Ignore the Lucky Bag Crowd...
This palette is really great and every shadow is special. There are metallics, absolute glitterbombs, and shades with a really pretty duochrome shift. There are several that make a great one-and-done look. The color story is beautiful and includes shades that would look great on a variety of skintones. I've mostly been using them along with my other shadows to elevate my looks with some sparkle and glamour. As others have pointed out, there is not a matte transition shade or a handful of neutrals. I personally really like that because I already have those shadows and don't need every palette to give me more, so I'm fine with it.
Downsides? It's not the easiest palette to use. I prefer using a synthetic brush to tap dry shadow onto a glitter glue base. This gives me a really deeply pigmented finish with lots of sparkle. You could also tap on with a finger or a damp brush. Over-blending these shadows tends to wipe away the glitter and leave the base shade. Some shades look totally fine when this happens and some of them (especially the darker colors) get a little weird. There is significant fallout during application.
Overall, I really love this palette. It's unlike anything else I own. I think it's really a bummer that it's been beaten up in the reviews by people mostly upset they didn't get what they wanted in their Lucky Bag. The difficult application and fussy formula kept me from giving it 5 stars but, honestly, it's close. I'm really glad I took a chance. I highly recommend it to anybody that's looking for something fresh and unique.
