Liason's fun older sister

Liason is my all time favorite purple palette so I was thrilled when Violette was announced! While there is some shadow crossover with Liason, Violette stands on its own with a deeper, brighter color story and the addition of duochrome metallics. Purple, especially when cool toned, is a notoriously difficult color to formulate but yet again, Viseart gets it right. The mattes are highly pigmented but buildable and, as always, require little effort when blending. They look on the eye as they do in the pan, don't muddy up and, because they aren't silicone heavy, crease and fade less, even without eye primer. The metallics and duochromes are stunning; intense, high shine and easy to work with although I do recommend applying over glitter glue to reduce fallout. Viseart has shown, yet again, that it is possible to create amazing cool toned purple shadows and I can't recommend this highly enough! **Full disclosure- I received Violette from Viseart for free but I'm under absolutely no obligation to review; I just love it and want to share my thoughts. I probably pestered Anastasia Viseart for another cool toned purple palette so much that she created this and sent it to me just to shut me up :)

Another great Viseart palette!

I only wear cool tones and bought Lilas the day it launched on Viseart's site. This is an absolutely beautiful quad! The mattes are the usual Viseart quality -- pigmented, buildable and virtually blend themselves but the metallics are the stars. They're high shine, intense and glittery and I've found it's best to apply them over glitter glue, or even better, with a mixing medium which will prevent fall out. The matte shades are pretty light in tone so this will probably only work as a stand alone quad for pale vampires, like me, to light skintones. Anyone deeper will most likely have to use darker mattes to add dimension. All in all, this is a beautiful quad and I can't recommend it enough!

Just ok

I had high expectations for this brush after seeing rave reviews on YT but it fell short. It looks and feels cheap and while it blends powder shadow well enough, the bristles are scratchy and somewhat stiff. At $38, it just doesn't give the same experience as my Wayne Goss, Rephr or Sonia G. eyeshadow brushes do, all of which are Japanese handmade with natural hair and cost less. I've decided to keep it and find a use for it but it's not a brush I'd recommend. **The Wayne Goss 18, Sonia G. Blenders and Rephr 01 are all amazing blending/transition/crease brushes!!

Fantastic satin blushes

I've recently started down the slippery slope that is Tom Ford makeup and these blushes are fabulous! They're pigmented but blendable and have a natural satin sheen that looks skinlike when applied. They're never powdery or cakey and don't leave sparkles on the cheeks. The formula applies beautifully with both natural and synthetic hair brushes and last almost all day before fading slightly. I have Gratuitous, Formidable and just bought Wicked, a stunning bright pink, which may be my new favorite shade. I can't recommend these blushes enough, even at full price.

Another great Units brush

I'm so happy with this, and every Units brush I've tried! It's very soft, has the perfect amount of give and blends both blush and softer pressed highlighters beautifully! All of my Units brushes are well made and wash extremely well. If there's a brush that interests you, don't hesitate to purchase!

Love the blush, not the highlight

I absolutely love the blush in this duo! Although it's very bright, it can be applied lightly and the natural matte formula is very blendable so it never looks patchy. It lasts at least 7 hours before it starts to fade slightly. My only issue is the highlight, which leans warm and gold on my very fair, cool toned skin. The formula is great, smooth and glitter free, but it's just not a color I can wear.

Love the blush, not the highlight

I bought this and Vivid Azalea and have the same issue with both duo; I love the blush but not the highlight. The blush formula is a natural matte, is buildable and blendable and lasts about 6-7 hrs before fading. The highlight is smooth and glitter free but on my very fair skintone, leans much more purple than pink, a color I'm just not a fan of. Another issue I have is that the shelf life is only 9 months, which is extremely short for a powder product. In the end, I am not keeping either duo just for the blushes.

3.5 stars - not truly cool toned

I do not wear warm tones so bought this palette as soon as it dropped because it was described by ND and influencers as the ultimate cool toned palette. Although the formula is great, this color story leans more warm with pops of true neutral and cool tones. The mattes are pigmented and blendable and the metallics are high shine, even with a dry brush, and while the shadows are powdery, I don't get any fallout.

Unfortunately, because there are so few mattes, this is not a stand alone palette for me and I'm not able to create more than a few neutral or cool toned looks because there is so much warmth.

I'm keeping this palette and I'll use it but this was such a missed opportunity because ND could've created a fantastic cool toned palette that consumers would have loved.

I've loved the Prisme Libre powder for years and am really happy that Beautylish now carries Givenchy. This is a beautiful finishing powder that blurs the skin and has a radiant, but not sparkly, finish. I have combo skin and it never emphasizes dryness or looks heavy or cakey. I'm very fair with cool undertones (MAC NW10) and Mousseline Pastel is the perfect shade. The only downside is the fragrance but it's never irritated my ultra sensitive, reactive skin.

Viseart does it again

Midsommer is beautiful, which is of no surprise when it comes to Viseart. I don't wear warm tones so this neutral leaning cool palette is my ideal and I bought it the day it launched on Viseart's site.

All 5 mattes are in Viseart's standard formula so they're pigmented, buildable and dry to the touch but blend like a dream. The shade Potion is a brownish plum matte with lots of gold and silver sparkle, Faerie is a beautiful pinky champagne metallic and Changeling is a stunning deep pink with a blue/teal duochrome shift. To avoid fallout, I always tap the excess off before applying the mattes and I apply all shimmers over glitter glue as I have hooded eyes.

The Petite Pro palettes, while small, are actually pretty versatile and Midsommer is no exception. It's a great day to night palette, is ideal for travel and is a perfect way to try Viseart shadows without breaking the bank. This specific palette is probably best suited for fair to medium skintones, or vampire pale like mine, and even though it has only 8 shadows, the mix of light, mid-toned and deep shades make it possible to create multiple different looks.

I'm really enjoying Midsommer and recommend it highly! **One thing to note is that Viseart changed their shimmer formula about 2 years ago to make it more intense so if you're looking for a Petite Pro with softer, less metallic shimmers, try palettes 1, 2 or 3. They can, however, be applied wet for a high shine look.
