Beauty Product Reviews
The absolute best
I thought I was losing my mind to even consider spending so much for a lip balm. And I'll admit it, the cute pink jar was part of my reason for wanting to try it in the first place. But I'm shocked to be able to say that this lip balm is worth every single penny and I will absolutely repurchase once it runs out (which thankfully will likely take nearly a year). The texture is perfect - the product really feels like it sinks in while leaving a nice protective layer on the lips. That layer has a cushy and moisturizing feel that takes a while to wear off. It is easy to work with this balm if you want to use it as a base for lip color. There is zero stickiness and even after it wears off, my lips feel moisturized so the balm has a lasting effect on the condition of my lips. The scent is neutral, light and pleasant and the pink jar looks so chic on my vanity. I can't say enough about it, it is my absolute favorite lip balm and I'm happy I can buy it through Beautylish.
My least favorite potted lip balm
It only took one try for me to know that the Paris Water Balm was not for me. I did give it a couple of other chances but the result has always been the same. This balm is goopy - the texture is like a very oily vaseline. It has a greasy feel that not only leaves the lips a bit sticky but you will also feel it on your fingertip well after you're done applying the balm to your lips. The thing that bothered me the most is the scent - which with lip balms also almost always equates to a "taste" from the product. There is something in the ingredients of this product that gives it a distinctly unpleasant scent/taste. If I had to guess, I would say it's the added fragrance or how that fragrance combines with the castor oil. It's not necessarily an awful smell and some people might even find it to be kind of neutral, but for me, it is a total dealbreaker. I prefer my lip products to have a more neutral or sweet scent so I found the smell of this product to be completely off-putting. I also did not find that this had any lasting effect on my lips so they felt dry again once the product wore off. I will say one good thing about it though - the product does take a long time to wear off of the lips because of the heavy consistency. So it would be good for someone looking for a long-wearing balm.
Love this brush but be careful with it under your eyes
I love this brush for spot concealing and, believe it or not, I really love to use it as a lip brush for a light wash of color or blurring out the edges after I've applied lipstick. It has kept me from getting lip color all over my fingers on more than one occasion. So far I've found it to be too firm to use on my under eyes and even found it to be a little scratchy on that delicate skin, although it seems to be softening up with use just a bit so I'll probably try it on my eyes again soon. I'm debating adding a second one to my collection!
LOVE!
I LOVE this mirror! It is so adorable and really nice quality. Yes, it is small - pay attention to the description and photos to get a sense of the size but it is big enough to see your face and parts of your hair at the same time. I bought it to check my makeup close up without magnification and it is perfect for that. The size also works for me because it won't take up so much space on my vanity or in the drawer. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again if I needed to.
