Beauty Product Reviews
Not the best, but I'll use it up somehow...
One of the very few TO products that I have had a sub-par experience with. I've used the 2% advanced retinoid before with no issues, and to be fair, I don't think it was the "active" component of this that was the issue. I have insanely dry skin so I thought the squalane version would be ideal for me, but the oil just never seemed to sink into my skin. I woke up this morning, and my face was still an oil slick even though I only used 2 drops. I'm going to try reducing it to 1 drop tonight and see how that goes. If not, worst case, I may test it out on legs to see if it helps w/ my keratosis pilaris (since my derm recommends trying out tretinoin based products for it) so all isn't lost I guess. Finally, it was a flawless shopping experience as always though - fast shipping/packaged nicely/etc.
Gentle, non-drying cleanser
Similar to the hydrabio serum, I've only used this 2-3x since I have received it, and I'm already quite pleased. I have sensitive skin that tends to react very quickly if it disagrees w/ a product, and so far, this cleanser has been great. I use micellar water (different brand) beforehand to get most of my makeup off, followed by this. I should note that I do NOT wear any eye makeup at all (mascara, eyeliner, etc.), which is where I think most cleansers tend to drop the ball, so I can't comment on its performance there. It's very gentle and non-drying though. Finally, it was a flawless shopping experience as always - fast shipping/packaged nicely/etc.
Fantastic!
I have been having folliculitis issues from shaving, and my derm recommended I switch from my Secret clinical strength deodorant to something for sensitive skin like Dove. I lived in Europe for a summer, where I used this, and was scouting the Beautylish website and was so surprised/excited to see it available for purchase here. I've only used it 2x and my folliculitis is already improving, plus I love the roll-on application. Finally, it was a flawless shopping experience as always - fast shipping/packaged nicely/etc.
LOVE LOVE LOVE
I own this lipstick in 3 colors - Walk of Shame, Very Victoria, and Bond Girl. I love them all equally, and they are absolutely my favorite matte lipstick formulation. The colors are extremely flattering on my NC42-45ish skin tone, and the formula is so creamy but still matte in the finish somehow. I own 1 Pat McGrath lipstick, but I reach for my CT lipsticks far more. In addition, I have had nothing but stellar shopping experiences w/ Beautylish.
Great product, but I won't be repurchasing it.
I ordered this before I knew about any of the J* controversies b/c I've had really bad cheilitis (peeling lips) as a side effect of one my meds. The lemon icebox scent/flavor is fantastic, and the scrub works well. In addition, the pot is much more generous than I was expecting. Overall, I have no complaints about the product itself and nothing but raves about Beautylish's service/packaging/shipping. That being said, I will not reorder this b/c I don't want to support a racist, which clearly relates to personal preference.
Really reduces hyperpigmentation...
This product has made a noticeable difference in diminishing my acne scare, and it's quite reasonably priced. My only minor quibble is the texture doesn't always play well w/ other products in my routine, but as long as I give it enough time to absorb, I can usually mitigate this
Reserving judgment
I suspect this product probably just isn't ideal for me, and I jumped on the bandwagon for a Wayne Goss brush at a great price. I use a lot of oil/cream-based products due to dry skin, and blue squirrel brushes shouldn't come in contact with a lot of moisture. I only use this with powder products accordingly, but it's pretty fragile and delicate. It's already shed a few hairs (which may taper off so I'm willing to give it time), plus it seems slightly asymmetrical, which I find annoying for a brush of this caliber. It is veryyy soft though, and I love the smaller size. If you use predominantly powder products, this brush is likely a great tool for you. In addition, I was (yet again) impressed with the fast turnaround, packaging, and customer service of Beautylish.
Good deal
I prefer cream products due to dry skin, and I have been wanting to try the beautyblender (I'm really late on the bandwagon). The full face (pink) and blush (grey) sponges are both nice. I typically use an Artis brush for foundation/blush products, but it can emphasize dry flakes, which the sponge helps avoid. The green sponge is really small, and I find it a bit impractical to work with, but I'm throwing it into my travel toiletry kit where it might come in handy. I wouldn't repurchase it alone though. I bought egg cup holders off Amazon so to help them dry out and stay clean. In addition, I was (yet again) impressed with the fast turnaround, packaging, and customer service of Beautylish.
Impressed after 2 uses
I have REALLY dry skin, as in I go to bed with multiple moisturizers topped off with Aquaphor and still wake up to flakes. I've only used this product twice so far, and I've already noticed an increase in hydration and a decrease in skin sensitivity. Given I have tried all sorts of other products, such as Hada Labo lotion and Hylamide sub-q serum, I'm quite pleased with this purchase. In addition, I was (yet again) impressed with the fast turnaround, packaging, and customer service of Beautylish.
Meh, was not impressed.
I purchased the larger size after reading reviews about the difficulty of getting the product out of the jar. I regret doing so for multiple reasons: 1) The mask burns. A LOT. 2) I didn't realize it has a 6 month expiration date. 3) It's a very odd/thin consistency that doesn't spread well with fingers and requires a mask brush. 4) I didn't see any results, except an increase in skin irritation due to the burning sensation. It's likely a good mask if you don't have sensitive skin, already own a mask brush, and use masks frequently; however, none of those apply to me. It was my 1st Beautylish order, and I was impressed with their shipping turnaround time and packaging on the upside.
