Beauty Product Reviews

Easy to Mix and Get's Results!

I have aging, normal to dry, sensitive skin that many products cause breakouts for me, but I've always been ok with acids. I try to focus on skin care to keep the wrinkles and melasma at bay as much as possible, and most of the time my skin looks pretty good as long as I am vigilant with my skincare. Plus I ALWAYS use sunscreen. For years I have been using mostly Perricone products and I've had very good results but they are quite pricey, so naturally I've been curious about The Ordinary and started using them about a month ago. So far I'm very pleased with most of what I've tried, and have placed a few more orders to try even more of The Ordinary as things I've wanted to try come back in stock. I will say that I've gotten the fastest and most noticeable results with this product combined with the Azelaic Acid. On to the review: I only lifted up the seal about half an inch so it's not as messy. It comes with a tiny scoop and I started with half of the scoop, but after a few days with a little tingling, but no irritation, I now use almost a whole scoop. I put it in my palm and then add a couple drops each of Salicylic Acid & Hyularonic Acid & sometimes Glycolic Acid, then rub it between my palms and apply. The powder is so super fine it blends up like a dream. I then follow up with Azelaic Acid topped with Rose Hip Seed Oil. Since I've started using it in combination with the Azelaic Acid, I can tell my skin seems noticeably brighter. I usually alternate this combo with retinol and will be adding some of The Ordinary antioxidants and peptides when they come in. When I want more skin clarity I use this combo two or three days in a row. After hearing people rave about Beautylish I can see why. Their thoughtful and careful packaging are top notch and shipping is quick. I also appreciate the free shipping with $35 purchase!

Ewwww. STRONG Scent, Smells Like Fish Oil!

It's even a brownish yellow color like fish oil! I have to hold my breath when I apply it, but the scent still stays with me for awhile and I find it very unpleasant. I wonder if I got a bad one. IDK if I can add some essential oil to help mask the scent. I might try that if it's safe, if not, I won't repurchase even though the oil itself seems nice and I like that it's supposed to brighten. BTW I'm using it after Vit C powder mixed with a couple drops each of Salicylic Acid & Hyularonic , followed with Azelaic Acid and then the Rose Hip Seed Oil.
