Beauty Product Reviews
Lives up to its name
I've used a variety of high end hair products over the years - Davines, Kerastase, B&B, Briogeo, Oribe, etc. This conditioner is hands down perfect for my daily use. I deep condition once a week or so with Davines miracle conditioner, but I am hooked on TV for daily care. I still use my Davines (melu) shampoo, though, as I found the TV shampoo cleans my hair a little TOO well (i.e., left me with lots and lots of flyaways/static). I combine this conditioner with the Waterfall moisture + shine lotion, and I'm extremely happy with the consistently great results.
Not blown away :(
I purchased this set, as opposed to individual brushes, in large part due to the foundation brush that can't be purchased separately (in the large size) and the large push liner - even though I think you're paying a premium for the limited edition status, as individually the equivalent brushes are slightly cheaper. I really want to love these brushes. I've acquired a couple of other WG face brushes that I love and thought this would be the easiest way to upgrade the rest of my set. A couple of problems: 1) The foundation brush is just not good. I've tried to make it work with a variety of foundations - liquid, loose powder, pressed powder - and it just gives a horrible finish. I'm using it now for a bronzing/countour brush, but I already had one of those, so I feel like this is a waste. I don't think I can overstate how disappointed I am in this particular brush. 2) Although I know some shedding is typical for natural hair brushes, several of my brushes are still shedding way more than they should after a month of daily use, and it's annoying having to pick hairs off my eyelids after application. I do love the powder brush and push liner, and aside from the shedding issue all the eye brushes work like a dream. But not sure I would repurchase WG again.
