About Me

Um...I"m older than a lot of people on this site?? *L*

It's been a very rough decade for me. Married, no children, doing my degree in Biological Psychology but that got interrupted because my man was bipolar & had a psychotic break that led to severe rapid cycling & a lot of....difficult. You know. Then he died, 3 yrs ago at 38 during a nap. So now I'm at a crossroads: Living with family who have been not so good to me in the past which is stressful, caring for my 80 yr old mother & trying to get disentangled & back to maybe my degree again...Problem is nobody will hire someone in this field at 50 which I'd be by the time I got my PhD. But academia is where I feel at home. I could go for the degree & pray I get a sessional here & there teaching (no tenure). I used to be crazy creative with my makeup (hey - I was a teenager in the goth scene in the 80's!) but now I'm happy if I just take care of my skin. Need to start caring for myself a little more so I joined - and everyone is very welcoming. I definitely have a lot of experience in terms of what works for me..I have olive skin but a blood disease that leaches hemoglobin so I get really pale which is kind of like very pale yellow at times - not so flattering! I love fashion, I love makeup, but can also be a bit tomboy-ish. Depends. Lots of great tips here. My dark circles are the bane of my existence. Nothing seems to work, so if anyone has any suggestions.... Oh - and an accident left me with a scar under the left side of my lip which makes it asymmetrical. I never noticed how much until I saw some photos at odd angles. Thanks for reading about my rather dull life!
