Beauty Product Reviews
Surprised and delighted
I didn’t have the highest hopes for this product to deliver in its claims, because Charlotte Tilbury foundations don’t seem to work for me at all. But this Magic Vanish is kind of miraculous! A light touch under my eyes and around my nose erases blue, red, and purple tones. I don’t need to apply much at all, and consequently don’t need to use much concealer. Pretty happy with it.
Not for me
I was so excited to try this foundation after all the hype and all of the YouTube reviews, but it just wasn’t for me. I heard it was a bit drying, so I made sure my dry skin was very moisturized. I applied this foundation on two different occasions, once with a Beauty Blender and once with a brush. Immediately upon application both times, I had “polka-dot” pores, which disappointed me very much. It also settled a bit into a few fine lines. It’s difficult for me to find a foundation for this reason. On the positive side, I was able to find a good match for my skin tone after visiting the Charlotte Tilbury website and enter the brand/shade names of foundations I’m currently using.
I’m in love
I love this mirror! While I’m not in love with being able to see every single imperfection and mark on my face, this mirror has really helped me step my makeup game up!
I have to get used to seeing EVERYTHING on my face. Up close and with the fantastic lighting, my makeup doesn’t look perfect at all, but then I take a look at it in natural light, and it’s nearly flawless. So this mirror is amazing.
Sheds
I really, really wanted to like this brush, after reading all the positive reviews. I bought the collection set, shuddering at the price tag, and hoping they'd be as awesome as I've read. But the jury's still out, honestly. The first 02 brush I got in the set shed A LOT. I contacted Beautylish, and they were absolutely AWESOME and replaced it quickly. The second one sheds less than my original, but still enough for it to be a bummer. I just don't like having to pick stray hairs off my face every time I apply powder, then blusher, highlighter, etc.
I also wish it was larger. Maybe I'm just used to larger brushes for powder and blush. I watched all of Wayne's videos too. I just don't get the effect I want for the price tag. I'm open to suggestions as to where I'm going wrong or what I'm missing. But I don't think the 02 is any better than other face brushes I've used. I hate to say it.
