I can’t stop loving Moon Juice
Okay, this is probaly my third or fourth review about a product from Moon Juice but I truly cannot get enough.
Let me just start by saying I love everything Moon Juice stands for. I love the education and transparency about the ingredients and I LOVE that the products are so easily understandable by consumers like me.
Now enough raving about Moon Juice, let’s talk about some good ol’ Schisandra! First of all, I believe it’s very important to note the taste of this powder is not at all pleasant and it is strong. I like to take ‘shots’ of my Moon Juices because I have a very “just get it over with” attitude about the taste. This was one heck of a shot, I’ll tell you that much. I definitely reached for some almond milk instead of my usual water because I desparetly needed to calm the taste down. It is an acquired taste, that’s all.
Once I got past the taste and took my shot of Schisandra every morning I did not even want to think about skipping a day. My body and mind felt serene. My energy level was so balanced and my digestive system was so happy. Quite fond memories of you ask me.
I stopped using Schisandra and not because of the taste or anything negative. I just wanted to try other Moon Juice powders since I simply cannot get enough of the brand. I’m not experimenting with Ashwaghanda in powder form and I look forward to seeing where that takes me.
This is how I survived winter
I fully attribute my survival of the cold winter months to this cream. Not only is it hydrating and refreshing, it’s thick but it’s not heavy. Don’t know how they did it but they’ve got a keeper in me for sure!
My friend was raving about this cream because she has dry skin as well. She told me I just had to try it so I started off with using a bit of hers. After the third day I was hooked and I can’t imagine my skin without it. Dry patches vanished and I had a glow that is just so lovely.
Usually I dread winter months because I know my dry and sensitive skin is going to go through a rough time but this came along just in time and saved the day.
Oh yeah, I also realize it’s now April and this review would’ve probably helped if it was up before those super dry winter months but consider your skin saved for next winter!!
Dead skin cells, I don’t know her
I got my hands on this body scrub and ever since I did I simply do not know who Dead Skin Cells is anymore. She is a distant relative with no ties to me for all I care, haha. But seriously, this isn’t just a fifty-something body scrub for nothing. It actually works. My skin looks and feels so polished after using this and I get a glow that’s like never before. I get that new relationship glow or that pregnancy glow. I get all the glow I could ever imagine. And no I’m not I’m a new relationship nor am I pregnant. But my skin gets the glow and I love it!
Sometimes I use this before shaving also but I mostly keep it for my spa days in my bathroom because I love to unwind and treat my body to some well-deserved Mila Moursi Skincare.
Half way through my bottle and I’ve already got it in my wishlist so I’ll be sure to repurchase.
Felt the need to rave about this brush
This brush is many things for me but most importantly, it’s my perfect crease brush. I’m on a never ending search for a crease brush that blends and diffuses without being to dense or too blunt. Something right in the middle is what I search for with every crease brush I come along and this is the perfect example of what a crease brush should be. It is dense enough to buff away any mistakes without compromising your eye look and it’s airy enough to make that light application of my transition shade blend like butter.
I would consider myself a crease brush collector (hahahah) because I love discovering new crease brushes but now all I can do is compare other crease brushes to Unit 113! Wish I could use emojis in this review because I’d totally use the screaming emoji right now.
The Basics Master Collection includes this brush and I reviewed that set as well. I’m including a photo of other Units brushes similar (but not the same!!) to Unit 113 because I know they can look pretty idenntical at a glance.
I can’t get enough of this brush and I’m buying back ups for sure.
My cheeks love when I use this!
This is my perfect everyday highlighter. I love to keep it in my makeup bag and apply it when I’m running late or on the go. What I love most is that this is an effortless glow. This is adding demsension to the skin and it is not a “blinding highlight” that’s all the rage these days. No, not al all. It’s subtle and feminine. This is mature and fun yet sophisticated also. This is my secret weapon when I want a good makeup day without all the effort. I wasn’t expecting this product to blow my mind the way it has. I also have texture on my upper cheeks and this does not accentuate it.
I prefer applying this glow with my fingers and I’ve never tried using a brush but if I did I would probably use a stippling brush. I sometimes like to bring this from my cheekbones a little further down to the apples of my cheeks.
Pretty fantastic if you ask me.
Stephanie Nicole made me do it!!
Okay, not gonna lie, I purchased this because Stephanie Nicole Mentioned it in on of her videos not too long ago. I know, I know, it’s crazy expensive but I’m actually glad I jumped into it because it has not disappointed me.
This is a serum that when applied feels like it’s going to be heavier than it actually is. I believe the consistency might just be a bit thicker but it is without a doubt lightweight and easily absorbs.
I began noticing my skin was brighter and smoother after about using this consistently for 3-4 weeks straight. My subtle acne scarring began to fade and I appreciate how this does not have an overl-powering scent. My skin also feels slightly lifted in the mornings after using this. Because of the price tags I don’t use it every night, maybe every other night at most but it is a keeper in my skincare regimen for sure.
My only complaint is that o wish they made an eye serum Vitamin C version of this because my dark circles would be so happy!
Pretty nice!
Just had to drop in here and give my two cents about this because I think it’s pretty awesome.
My skin loves this refresh gel. I like to call it my rebalance at the end of a long week. But then again, I think that may be a bit false because I use this 2-3 times a week.
This is a pick me up my skin craves and it is a product I cannot survive the winter without. I have severely sensitive and dry skin and while I am more skeptical about skincare products, I never doubt Koh Gen Do will make my skin react negatively. First off, I appreciate that the “water” in all of Koh Gen Do’s skincare products is ultra-refined Japanese water that has been treated and is especially perfect for sensitive skin. I wish all skincare brands would treat their water as special as Koh Gen Do does.
But anyway, back to why I love this guy. My skin simply feels refreshed, rebalanced and any irritation is quickly calmed when I steadily keep this as a part of my routine. It also didn’t take long for me to see the scarring on my skin disappear. It’s fast absorbing and I think that makes this perfect for oily skin types as well.
Comfortable matte
So happy I decided to give this a try. I’ve never tried any of Kevyn Aucoin’s lip products and tried this and a lipstick of theirs out. Quite satisfied to say the least. The shade Janet is a soft muted peachy nude that wears wonderfully on my lips throughout the day. I also find I can layer this product on top of itself without having to reapply everything and it’s pretty impressive.
There’s really no way I can describe the texture of this product. It’s lightweight and airy but it’s not a mousse nor is it a liquid consistency. Definitely a hydbird and I believe this makes the product so lightweight on my lips.
I will say this doesn’t survive fried chicken or overly greasy foods but it does stay put while I constantly drink water though the day. I haven’t paid as close attention to the total wear time but I would say I get 5 or 6 hours of solid color with no patchiness before I have to reapply. And mind you reapplication is only on the center of my lips wear color has come off.
I like it a lot.
Perfect for blending product on the lower lash line
This is my secret weapon to an easy and effortless lower lash line application. Whether I want to use it for a smokey look or a soft natural look, this brush never fails me.
Unit 117 is the perfect size brush to hug the lower lash line without adding too much color too far below. I love a really blended and blown out lower lash look whenever I apply makeup and this is truly the brush of my dreams.
I find it very difficult to find brushes like this that are this dense with the perfect bristle length. For a soft look I like to use my transition color with Unit 117 and blend the lower lash line until It’s blown out and super diffused. I’ll Then use Unit 127 to add more definition. If I want a more sultry look I’ll do the same steps and pack on more color with Unit 127.
I’ve also played around with Unit 117 on the eyes to apply primer or for applying highlight to the Browbone and I quite enjoy it.
In my photo I wanted to show the size of the brush and it is the most perfect size, ugh. Couldn’t ask for more!!
Took the plunge and SO worth it!!
Ok, let's start with why I decided to by the entire collection of Units brushes instead of just a few here and there--I got 28 brushes for $195 and do not regret it!
When I stumbled across this set I was a bit weary because I've never heard of the brand. I also assumed I was only getting the 14 brushes in the photograph and it's actually the entire collection.
I am so thoroughly satisfied with the Units brand brushes. There are essentials and detail brushes that I adore because I love doing detailed eye looks. I'm definitely not a pro artist to any extent and the detail eye brushes like Unit 127, 114, 126, 119 make doing a cut crease a DREAM!
I also appreciate how they thought about including two sizes for several of the brushes because not everyone has a small face and not everyone has a large face either. Unit 110 is the smaller version of Unit 105 and Unit 111 is the smaller version of Unit 107. There's also Unit 104 that is is a smaller version of Unit 102.
I love how they considered all face shapes and sizes when making these brushes because literally every need is covered. And don't confuse that with duplicates, nope, not here! I have a large face and I love using the larger brushes for more traditional application like Unit 107 for powder bronzer and Unit 111 for cream blush application.
Also, and probably my most important part of this review: these brushes are not only for cream products!!!! I was so wrong when I assumed these were only for cream/liquid. I guess I looked at the bristles and my mind assumed creams/liquid. These brushes work superbly on powders also and my favorite for face powders are Unit 106, 105, 101 (SO perfect for buffing powders!), and 104.
Ok, I know I'm probably ranting and this review might be all over the place but I really enjoy these brushes and I can't stop using them. The price and quality are unbeatable in my opinion. I've washed them two times since buying and they do not excessively shed nor do they feel scratchy.
