Beauty Product Reviews
Godsend for oily/acne-prone, but dehydrated skin
This product is AMAZING for my oily skin, yet dehydrated skin. I accidentally left this on my face for, oh I don't know, 8 hours? It left my skin suuuuuuuper hydrated. This didn't break me out and didn't clog my pores. I attack my face with retinols, AHA's and BHA's, and a derma roller, so this is a great nourishing treat for my skin. I wish they made this for my entire body!
I tried the smaller size - definitely buying the bigger one
I have BLACK, fine hair. This stuff works wonders! A little goes a long way and almost completely invisible.
Follow-up to Initial Review on 02-JUN-2017
Alright guys... As you can see by my star rating, I clearly love this product. What the star rating lacks is the NUMBER of stars I want to give this little miracle worker. This is, hands down, my favorite eye serum I've ever used.
Before I get ahead of myself, let me describe the skin around my eyes. I have oily, hooded eyelids, but very dry undereyes. I'm 29 years old (turning 30 in a couple of months), but dark circles and crepe-y skin around the eyes run in my family. About a year ago, I started noticing that when I used shimmers or glitters on my eyelid, it looked extra wrinkly and chunky. I've been using eye creams for about 4 years now. The eye creams I've used are as follows: Algenist Renewal Balm, Origins Ginzing eye cream, Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic Acid eye treatment and Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift.
Prior to the FECC, the most "effective" eye serum was the Dr. Dennis Gross one. However, I went through that WAY faster than I'll ever get through the FECC and it contains the same amount of product.
So, now you have a bit of a background, let me tell you how my eyes have changed after a month and a half of FECC use:
My mobile (top) eyelid is almost completely smooth. My Natasha Denona glitter and metallic eyeshadow apply with a mirrored, foiled finish. Creasing on my eyelids has been reduced, and the darkness has been corrected slightly. I can used a regular eyeshadow primer (instead of one that contains a tint), and the eyeshadows aren't hindered by the pigment in my skin.
My under eyes have significant reduction in fine lines. Concealers don't crease much anymore (before, I needed to use an eyeshadow primer to prevent creasing under my eyes). I still need to set the undereye concealer with powder (a light layer of the RCMA No-Color Powder), though. As far as concealing is concerned, I used to need a color corrector (Laura Mercier undereye corrector) as well as a full-coverage concealer (Tarte Shape Tape) to get the same effect I get now with a light/medium coverage concealer (Stellar Limitless concealer).
How I use this product and how long I've used it:
I started using this June 1st, 2017, and have used it religiously since then. I apply ONE drop to each eye in the morning and let it sink in for about 15 minutes before applying makeup. At night, I apply TWO drops on each eye (one drop for my eyelid and one drop for my undereye).
What you can expect:
This stuff is STICKY. It's definitely oily feeling. If you don't like that, you won't like this. At night, after applying this serum, when I blink, I can feel my eyelid sticking together a little bit. The sticky feeling does, however, go away after about 30 minutes or so. You can expect to wake up with soft and supple eyelids, though, and the stickiness is completely gone by morning. You might still get some stickiness in the morning, but just give it time to sink in before concealer application. You can use an eye primer on your undereyes (if you have oily undereyes) before concealer application, and you shouldn't experience any creasing.
Overall thoughts:
This is the last eye serum I will ever purchase. Unless they change the formula, this serum is worth WAY MORE than the cost. This 30 mL bottle will likely last me at least a year with regular use.
I tried to provide a complete review, but please keep in my, if your skin type differs, you may not get the same result. If you have deep wrinkles, you should still expect softening of your lines. This will help with Crow's Feet, too. Hope this was helpful! :)
Initial Review - will update with more use
This stuff is POTENT! You need just one drop for each eye. Initially, it gets VERY sticky (if you're going to apply makeup over top of it, be sure to give at LEAST 30 minutes for it to sink in, or only use it at night time). However, the stickiness goes away with time. I've used it once - just overnight - I put it on again this morning, and my skin feels very smooth with just one application. If you have dry undereyes, this will be a GODSEND. I'll write another review with repeated use. But, so far, it definitely feels like it's working.
Perfect for under the eyes
This brush was a little smaller than I had expected (a bit small for my chubby cheeks), but it's PERFECT for setting your undereye concealer. Suuuuuper soft, very consistent with the Wayne Goss brush line. Worth the $35 I paid for it.
Beautiful finish - not a good color match
I love the finish and the longevity of this foundation. It really performs beautifully and lasts on my temperamental oiy/combination skin. Unfortunately, the color match wasn't right for me skin tone. It turned a bit grey on me, and I couldn't mask it with a bronzer. If you can find your shade, I'm sure you'll enjoy the finish of this product.
Don't notice any difference - not as advertised
Let me first start off by saying, I don't have sensitive skin. I use several acids and retinols with no adverse reaction. With that said, reading the other reviews, I was expecting at least a MILD tingling from this mask, given that it contains cayenne pepper.
Suffices to say, I felt nothing. Zilch. Maybe this all-natural mask was not potent enough for my chemically treated skin. I used up a BUNCH of the product, thinking that with time, I would see a change. Again, nothing.
I even had my boyfriend try it - he uses nothing to care for his skin (stereotypical male, of course), and even he felt no tingling.
It didn't break me out but it performed no miracles. Also, the price has gone up almost 10% since I purchased it in December of 2016 - not sure what that means.
All in all, it's a nice experience. Is it worth it? Not in the least. I went ahead an returned it.
Shimmers better than 12-pan Viseart palettes
I travel a lot for work and the size of this palette is PERFECT. Though the size of the pan is super small, they seem to have almost as much product as a full-size MAC eyeshadow. The pans are fairly deep, and of course, magnetic, to it's easy to depot them and put them in your own palette, if you want. The mirror is good in a pinch, but it's kind of tiny - not warped or anything, but small.
The mattes are the traditional "to-die-for" Viseart quality, and the shimmers are a lot smoother (except the "lightest" shimmer shade, which has the most glitter in it) than the 12-pan palettes. I have all three of the Theory Palettes and this is a welcomed addition to my collected.
