Beauty Product Reviews
Works wonders on medium skin!
This is my first Natasha Denona palette and it does not disappoint. I have medium skin with olive skin tone, and this palette is great for everyday looks! I have seen reviews from people with fairer skin colour and these shadows can look really bright and popping on them. But for me (and I don't mean it as a criticism), the colours (especially the yellows and oranges) just mesh with my skin and I manage to get very flattering work-appropriate looks with this palette. To be honest I don't use pinks and reds all that much (maybe almost never?) but this hasn't dampened my love for this palette at all.
Truly best for travel
This duo stick came smaller than I expected. But then this is a high end brand, so I expected this to be on the pricier side. On the product itself, I'd say it gives a light to light-medium coverage with a luminous finish (due to the highlighty side of the stick, as I apply both sides). It's perfect for travel and holidays when I typically prefer a lighter coverage foundation just to gently even out the skintone. The sponge tip is totally useless though. I'd prefer it to be removed if someday in the future the brand decides to repackage this product.
Never thought I needed a bronzer, yet I love this!
I have medium skin with olive undertone so bronzer has never been in my makeup routine as I thought I just didn't need "help" with warming up my face. I tried this out in a mini kit and I've been loving it since. I love the luminosity and it's a wonderful eyeshadow for a minimum makeup day. Goes perfectly with my skin tone. LOVE.
I wasn't sure but now I'm in love
First of all, I'm so glad that Cover FX caters to olive skintones. Have always had problems matching my medium olive skin but this G+40 has the perfect undertone. This would truly be perfect if the jump from 40 to 50 isn't so great as I would prefer slightly more depth but I can't really complain.
As to the performance of the product, it gave me mixed feeling at first because it's really thick and dries down real fast. I now use my fingers to spread it on my face and then a slightly damp sponge to finish. It will cling to dry patches but dryness isn't my biggest concern in this hot humid Asian summer. Once it's on it doesn't move. I'm confident it won't melt off my face even if I'm out and about. It's truly a workhorse. Love it.
Best face powder
I have dry skin and face powders never agreed with it. This powder sets but does not dry. Perfect for the hot humid summer in Asia. I can't recommend this enough.
The colour is great, the price is not
... because of the little amount of product you get. It's not difficult to put on but it still drags my lips a little bit if my lips are completely dry (i.e. lip balm-free). I would try other colours if the pricing is more sensible given the amount of product you get.
Boy this is YELLOW!
I'm East Asian and I have a strong yellow undertone to my skin but even so, this is way too yellow for me. It also cakes up quite easily around my nose. But if I be careful and make sure I don't apply too much (like less than 1 full pump, if not half a pump), this looks quite decent and definitely great value for its price. I also love how small this bottle is - save me a lot of space and I don't ever feel nervous about dropping it.
Beautiful finish but it may oxidize
I purchased this based on the great reviews from some of my favourite youtubers. They are right - this gives really good coverage and looks so beautiful on the skin. I have taken one star off because unfortunately it oxidises quite badly on my skin - so bad that at the end of the day my mom asked if I had picked the wrong foundation shade. I do notice from other reviews I've seen that most people do not experience any oxidation. For reference, I have normal to dry skin and my shade is between NC20 and NC25. Colour match is great when first applied but it probably has gone into NC30 when the day is done.
I returned this due to this factor alone (and I love Beautylish for its fuss-free return policy). Otherwise, highly recommend.
Does it's job nicely - would be great if not in a pot
This thing does what it says to do - color correct. A thin layer will do. But since it's quite emollient it does crease underneath my eyes. Not sure I appreciate the pot - don't want to think about how I have to dig my fingers deep into it to scrape product out when I'm further into this. A stick may be easier if it's too thick to put in a tube, maybe?
Beautiful color, hefty price tag
That seems to be a common theme of all Tom Ford products. The color is very beautiful (I have very pigmented lips) and the micro glitter is so very fine and subtle. I don't find it any stickier than other lip glosses. It feels like those lip plumping products when applied to the lips though - didn't realise it's marketed to plump lips? Anyway the color is to die for and I don't really care about anything else.
