Beauty Product Reviews

super matte

I have very oily skin, a MAC NC30, and lives in a very humid Manila especially during summer. This dries like Fenty but not thick like Becca's ever-matte foundation. I could not remove a star on Nude tho it looks dark on me but I cannot say I am to blame cause this is an online purchase and if the website is not helping out on finding the right shade then I cannot say it's the customer's fault. But since i bought a lighter shade from Fenty I just mixed them to tone down the shades. Anyway I find it very rare to really get hold of the perfect shade for me from any brands. But I can attest that my made up face lasted for a little over 9 hours without being overly oily. I mean even Fenty can only last for nearly 4 hours before oil starts to peep out. I recommend this for those with oily skin.

still not for me

I had an earlier review on 09 - honey beige which is a caramel and this 07 - vanilla beige is still not the right color for NC 25 - 30. this is a lighter shade and made it look ashy on me. But combined with the honey beige made the perfect shade for me. it is only then i appreciate the formula. after wearing it for two days there is nothing obvious since effects are normally apparent after long use. but what i noticed is my large pores are not prominent, i do not know if it is the artis brush that i used or because i just blended it a lot. It gives dewy or glowing effect but it is not tacky, i touched my face after blending and it is totally dry and sort of powdery. It took me two layers to really give the cover I want but one layer is enough if one do not have much blemishes to hide. will i repurchase? nope, i will just finish these two tubes and continue my search for the best.

just the formula

I am an NC 30 but sometimes NC 25, 09-Honey Beige is tooooooooooooo caramel for me!!! it is my fault that i did not visit the by terry website to read the description of the shades, may be it will be helpful if there is a close to accurate "shade finder" to avoid frustrated customer like me. not talking about the wrong shade, the formula is light not mousse type, it is a little runny but do not be deceived by this cause it dries fast and although it looks dewy it is not tacky.

improved?

so many negative reviews here and in youtube but after watching stephanie nicole and wayne goss on their take on Subculture I became curious and clicked the checkout button with my eyes closed, lol. stephanie nicole explained the formula and everything about the product and learned a lot from her, learned that not all eyeshadows are the same. There is a reason why some are buttery while others are chalky and others are gritty. The first time Subculture came out i really wanted to get it because of the interesting shades I haven't seen from other brands but was put off because of the negative reviews... but it pays to be informed by people from the creative team. The trick is to LIGHTLY TOUCH the formula with either finger or brush and blend. I actually like the color range here than the modern renaissance, Subculture is more forward while modern renaissance is warm and muted. i buy make up for personal use and this palette is not for collecting i actually use them especially the teals.

one out of three

these are all stiff plastic bristles, the only one i can use or have use for me is the crease brush (pointed) that is ok for cream and even on powder shadows, especially when it is wet. but the other two are just nothing.... can't use on my lid since they are both hard and poked my skin. do not recommend this to anyone

matte blushes

this blush has fragrance which i like and enjoyed every time I use them. with this pink shade each pan do not really create any difference when on the the cheeks, so whether you use either or both the result is the same. if you want a more practical and cost effective blush duo try those with different shades. but what i noticed is those with peachy partners, the peach side has light shimmers for highlighting. but again this 04 pink has two matte blushes.

i hope it will be better next time

no wayne goss brushes, only palette i got was a charlotte tilburry gold goddess which is so tiny, oh i got a make up brush.... the BECCA ONE brush which is my most hated brush and its the rose gold edition!!! that is so years ago and probably not moving from the inventory and this lucky bag is the only way to get rid of. sorry beautylish i know this is a a gamble... but this is the first time i joined this lucky bag after spending thousands on your merchandise and i was so disappointed and frustrated. some youtubers had really pushed this lucky bag so hard that made anyone drooling... and some even bashed those who were just honest in sharing their opinion when they did not like what they got. But this is my advise for those contemplating on this lucky bag for the coming years.... if you regularly purchase from beautylish (like me!!!) most likely you already got what you really wanted so do not expect much during this lucky bags, you will surely be disappointed even if you received a natasha denona palette.

helped tame my brushes

this product is very helpful to tame my small eyeshadow brushes. i used this guard after washing my brushes, which does not affect the drying by the way they still dry fast, and when i see that some brushes are spreading much after use. this is fine with synthetic and natural bristles (goat and squirrel).

handy and small

this is a small handy compact mirror that has a standard/normal and a magnifying side. but the specification on the range of magnification AND the dimension of this mirror are not provided even in the website of pop and suki which I think will be more helpful when purchasing this item. but all in all it is handy which is my purpose of buying this product. since this did not come with any pouch to protect the compact it fits nicely inside the BECCA zipped pouch that comes with the compact powder.

it works better than my DIY

I don't want to waste money on z-palettes and made my own DIY using magnetic sheets but the pans still fell after sometime so i ended purchasing the z-palette. and i truly regret wasting my money in my DIY i should have bought this the first time and saved time and effort. the z-palettes are real, they really helps in organizing and keeping the pans in place. but if you have several small pans to sort out i suggest you buy those extra metal squares and circles. you'll never know when you will need it, the MAC shadows do not stick on the z-palette and needs metal sheets to stick on the back of those pans. although z-palette comes with few metal squares and circles sometimes their adhesive is not that strong so you end up using more metal strips. i recommend z-palettes to organize, they really help save up space on you vanity.
