Beauty Product Reviews
Very moisturizing and smells amazing!
I carry one of these around with me because unlike a lotion, it can't spill or explode and make a mess in my bag. I use this on my lips and hands whenever they start feeling dry. It smells wonderful and lasts on your skin for a long time without being overpowering or obnoxious. It's not that cold where I live yet, so I can't say how well this will protect or repair my lips and hands once they start getting chapped.
The product is very moisturizing without feeling greasy or heavy. You can definitely feel a "layer" of the product on your skin at first but it sinks in after a few minutes. This makes me think it will be great for protecting and soothing my skin on cold, windy days.
I also really like the swivel stick design. It's very easy to apply where you want without making a mess and getting the product all over your hands. You also get a LOT of product for your money - this is one of those large "chubby" tubes, not a small Chapstick-size tube.
Great topcoat that lasts forever and doesn't cost a fortune!
I LOVE this top coat! It does exactly what it says on the bottle - it dries VERY quickly to a gorgeous shine, and it actually does reduce chipping! I use this every time I do my nails no matter what polish I'm using because this top coat always makes it look so much nicer, and it makes my manicure last longer too. The large-ish size of the brush makes it easy to cover your whole nail without missing little spots.
I've had a bottle of this for over a year and it's still super smooth and easy to apply. It hasn't turned all gooey like other clear nail polishes and top coats I've used in the past. You definitely don't have to worry about not getting your money's worth out of this stuff!
Thin, streaky formula and a dull finish.
Not impressed with this brand at all. The formula is very thin and leaves really bad streaks no matter how careful I am. The color I have (a bright shade of magenta/fuchsia) takes at least 5 coats to look solid and hide all the streaks. At least it dries pretty quickly. Strangely, this polish always dries to a dull, satin-like finish. A top coat is absolutely necessary to make it look nice. But even with a good top coat, the wear on this polish is terrible. I've never tried a brand that chipped so fast and so much.
I got this as a birthday gift and wouldn't purchase it for myself or anyone else. I love the color but I'd rather get a similar shade in a better brand than deal with this crappy formula again.
Doesn't give me migraines!
This remover works great and doesn't break the bank, but the reason I love it is because it barely has any odor! I get really bad migraines and harsh chemical smells (like acetone) usually trigger me. It was so bad that I stopped painting my nails completely for a few months. I've never had any problem with this remover because the smell is so much gentler than other polish removers I've tried. And it still does a great job of removing my nail polish quickly and cleanly. it doesn't feel drying or irritating on my skin, either, so I think it's gentler on my nails too.
Great quality and great color!
This is some of the nicest nail polish I've ever bought. The formula is fantastic - very opaque and smooth, and it doesn't take too long to dry either. I like the style of the bottle and the wide brush works really well, too. It lasted almost a week before any significant chipping happened.
I love Pat on the Black! It looks black on this site but in person it's a very dark almost-black reddish-purple. It's a very vampy color and looks super classy. It's totally opaque with two coats, but you can get away with one if you don't mind it looking more reddish-purple than black.
I don't like spending more than $5 on nailpolish, but $8 is very fair for the quality you get with this brand - and the price wouldn't stop me from buying more in the future. The other colors are lovely and actually make me want to buy some nude shades for once in my life!
A fan of this since I was 12.
I've been going back to Xtreme Wear for about ten years now and I still love it. I've had lots of different shades over the years and they've all gone on smooth and stayed on for several days without chipping. Black Out is one of the best black nail polishes I've ever owned, and Night Lights is still my favorite glitter polish - it's a sheer dark gray with tiny holographic glitter. Looks great over dark colors!
Gunmetal is my most recent purchase, and it's thinner than the other colors I've had. I still really like it because even one thin layer looks really cool, so it's a great polish for layering with other colors. The color really does look like gunmetal - a very dark metallic gray with a blue tinge. I think I needed three layers to make my nails match the bottle.
Great for the price!
I recently bought my first two bottles of Sinful Colors, and I can't wait to get more! I'm really impressed with the quality of these polishes considering how cheap they are. The formula seems to be really good and it takes several days for some tiny chips to appear. You get a lot of polish for your money, and the brush holds lots of polish and is easy to use.
The first color I bought was Mint Green (of course). I'm sure you've all heard what a great color it is, so I'll just skip to the quality. It's creamy and pretty opaque - two coats is fine but I think it looks really solid with three. I also think it looks best with a top coat because it isn't super-shiny by itself.
The second color I got was Love Nails, a metallic electric blue that leans toward teal. I LOVE the color in the bottle, but sadly it's very sheer, streaks a lot, and took FIVE coats to make my nails look like the bottle. This color is definitely better for layering over other colors than just by itself. The formula is still good even though it's too sheer for my liking.
Overall I'm really happy with this brand so far and I'm really excited about trying some other colors! I really like that Sinful Colors makes so many interesting shades, too. I always want to try new colors but I'm really wary of trying different brands because I hate wasting money on bad nail polish. So I'll probably keep buying Sinful Colors because I know the formula is good and the price is definitely right, and I'm sure they'll have whatever color I'm looking for.
Quality could be much better.
I have this in Vigorous Violet, which is a warm, medium-light purple creme with a subtle shimmer. I really like the color and it does dry very quickly. The brush is very wide and holds a lot of polish, which can take a little while to get used to but works better than a thinner brush. The polish itself is on the thicker side, but it's very opaque. You could probably get away with one coat but I think it looks better with two. I haven't noticed any staining with this color, and I don't usually use a base coat.
Unfortunately I seem to get bubbles every time I use this polish no matter how long I wait between coats. And I just noticed recently that, after owning it for less than a year, the polish is separating really badly in the bottle. I haven't used it in a while and don't really know why it's separating like that, but I'm sure it's not a good sign.
It's a good product for the price but there are better nail polishes you could buy instead. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polish, for example, works much better than this and is about the same price. I'm still a loyal Sally Hansen customer but I probably won't buy another Insta-Dri polish any time soon.
I'm so glad I found this!
I recently switched to this body wash after years of using scented body wash and finding out that those could have been causing a lot of the problems I've had for years. My face tends to be oily but the rest of my body is very dry and sensitive. I also live in an area with very hard water, and that just makes my skin even worse. I always used to slather lotion all over myself after I got out of the shower because my skin felt so dry and tight, but since I started using this body wash I haven't had to do that anymore!
My skin feels so much more moisturized now, and some of my most irritated patches of skin have really calmed down after only 2 weeks of washing with this product. I tend to break out on my upper arms and shoulders, and I'm noticing a little bit less acne and irritation around those areas too.
This body wash smells sort of like oatmeal, but that's because it's made with oatmeal, not because there's an "oatmeal fragrance" added. It's not a bad scent but it's not amazing, either. I didn't like it at first but I definitely didn't mind it after it made my skin feel so much better! I'm really glad that I found this body wash because now I can look forward to healthier, happier skin!
Not bad, but not the best.
Burt's Bees definitely isn't my favorite brand when it comes to lip products. The beeswax balm isn't bad but I like some other brands better. The cooling mint sensation is my favorite thing about this balm, but other than that I think it's only "okay." The formula is thicker and waxier than I would like, and it's actually very hard to apply when you open a new tube - it doesn't go on smooth until you've been using it for a while. It feels good on your lips for a little while but when it wears off your lips feel drier than before, so I wouldn't say that it's "moisturizing."
I'll use up the tube I have, but after that I probably won't buy this balm again.
