Beauty Product Reviews
Perfect for contour
I like it as it's not overly pigmented. Fine powder and it comes sheer but easily built up as desired. People often compared this with Kevyn aucoin sculpting powder in medium, I don't see myself purchasing a contour shade that expensive. I would only spend on complexion or highlight products for makeup.
Performed as described
It is very sturdy and comes with some weight. Simple and sleek design, doesn't take up much space in my makeup stack, perfect for travel.
Really lovely color for everyday wear
I love this blush. Subtle but on point. Beautiful packaging too. But the shimmery shade doesn't really do much.
Great coverage
I am using this as normal concealer and it works fine. It stays in place all day. Probably purchasing it in a lighter shade in the future as it is exactly my shade and a tiny tad darker (I'm mixing NC10 and NC15 for a perfect shade).
Beautiful
It is beautiful. Fine powder and doesn't accentuate skin texture much. Great packaging too. But keep in mind it gives quite a yellow glow. I personally prefer MAC double gleam. But I love collecting highlighters in diversity.
Weird foaming effect
I am using 2% BHA liquid from Paula's Choice daily and loving it. You can really see and feel your skin getting smoother the next day of use without any irritation. Wanted to find similar products as it's not convenient for me to purchase Paula's Choice products from where I stay. So I decided to try it out with Ordinary line.
It is in clear gel formula and when you rub it in your skin, it starts to foam. I tried it with lesser movement during application, and the result is the same.
I waited for it to sink in and absorb before applying another hydrating serum, and it foams up again, seems like whatever you put after, gives it moisture to foam again. I am going to give it more shots before putting it away. But I can say I really don't like the application experience.
I want to love Ordinary line as it is so affordable and the packaging is just sleek and simple, but I haven't tried anything that I actually like and enjoy the experience or see any result from application.
I purchased the Buffet and it is extremely sticky upon application, just like you put glue on your face. I endured a bottle of application which took a month's time. Didn't see any result and I threw the other backup away.
Currently using Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA, it is sticky as glue but I am going to finish a bottle before concluding.
I still have Lactic Acid 5% and Azelaic Acid from Ordinary yet to use. But I am not expecting much.
For now, I am pretty sure that I will never purchase from Ordinary line ever again... it is an overhyped brand from Youtube. It is cheap, $6 or $8 a bottle but if it gives such weird application and no result is seen or felt.. it is still a waste of money. Save up for better ones.
I am not noticing much difference.
It is lightweight and easily adsorbed into the skin. I apply it in the day under makeup and my skin felt supple, not oily and greasy like moisturizers can be sometimes. And makeup wears fine. It is not wow-ing me but it is a good product in general.
Quality brush
I was skeptical about wayne goss brushes as there are so many people promoting on youtube. Media review can be hard to trust these days and given the price tag for his brushes, you can't just buy and toss it away if its not good. YOLO and I bought it, as well as the airbrush brush. AND I LOVE THEM! I was very happy with the brushes and I ended up purchasing 2 more of the rose gold limited edition airbrush brush. Its extremely soft, try poking on your undereye area and you feel nothing. It gives diffused colors, great for highlight and contour. Personally I like airbrush brush better but this works just great!
Up to its price tag
It really gave my skin an airbrushed look. I used this to apply setting powder under my eyes and whole face, and my skin looked so flawless , even my boyfriend noticed the difference (yall know men... he notices, and it must be a huge difference) I will never use another brush or puff to put on powders again. The rose gold limited edition has just been released. I placed order for 2 rose gold brushes, for blush and highlight. I want to have them for individual uses. Love them so much. I like this more than wayne goss 02 brush. Maybe its tapered and thinner than 02 brush, so it gives a sheer layer of product for a natural look, and you can layer them up as you like. And its SO SO SO SOFT! Everybody should try it! I tried RT setting brush and I felt like needle poking on my face.
I love these powders!!
I have combination skin towards oily side and have been searching for a powder which doesn't cake up on me or change my foundation colour for a very long time. People have been crazy for these powders on social media lately and I feel the same after using it for the first time. It blurs out imperfections like pores, texture and shine. It is not that magical to last you a matte face for the entire day but it definitely did well for me for a good 6 hours wear. At the end of the day I still get shine but no cake up on the side of the nose or too greasy that I can outshine a hotdog on pan Plus it brightens up the skin. And the price of it is just amazing. Would definitely repurchase. And beautylish is doing such a wonderful job. A great experience from shopping, ordering and receiving items from beautylish. Lovely packaging!!
