Beauty Product Reviews
Your skin, just better
I'm truly impressed with this foundation. There is only one other foundation that I can were everyday, and it's the Lancôme Teinte Idole long wear matte stick. Both are incredibly light weight and coverage buildable.
I recommend this foundation for someone who is pretty happy with their natural skin condition (tone, texture, clarity) looking for something to enhance and show that off as opposed to covering up and transforming it. If you enjoy a real skin finish (think Kevyn Aucoin and the Teinte Idole stick) then you will be pleased by how lightweight this is. No need to set the entire face with powder, but a nice pat of the Tzone with MUFE HD powder or La Mere's setting powder will help mattifying the look for us oily-skinned lasses without upsetting the Denona glow.
The product does as advertised and provides a really pretty, subtle glow without the obvious sparkle or oiliness that other similar products have to rely upon for a "dewy" look.
The other products in the glow system work well together, and also play nicely with other brands. If you can afford to get the glow stick and powder you will not regret it. When you have everything on together it's fun just to sit in the mirror and turn your face just to see how the light reflects on different planes of the face.
Lastly, thank you Natasha and Beautylish for making a real attempt to offer beautiful solutions to women of every color. There are plenty of shades and not just one all purpose "dark". No garish red pigment. No mixing required. For reference, I have extremely oily skin. MAC NW45, Teinte Idole 500 suede w, CoverFX Custom Cover Drops 110.
I would recommend this and repurchase. Photos have no filter.
Softest, biggest brush Ever
So glad I purchased this in time. It's sold out now. First impression is that it is the largest brush head available by Mr. Goss. Stunningly soft and pliable with long brush hairs. Nice weight in the hand. A pleasure to run across the skin. It just arrived in the mail today, so this is just a first impression. I can see why it is perfect for blending and sweeping product. I'm looking forward to incorporating this into my daily face routine. Well done Wayne and Beautylish!
Perfect
I can't say enough about how versatile and wonderful this product is, especially for those who don't like to wear foundation, but still want an even canvas. I'm a MAC NW45 with very oily skin for reference. The great thing is that I can mix this with serums and moisturizers- they specifically warn against mixing with an SPF as it may reduce effectiveness of the sunscreen.
My only complaint is the dropper system/ messy bottle. The dropper would be fine on its own, but somehow, you'll end up with wasted product that builds up on and around the top of the container...it's quite messy and non-responsive to soap. The shade matched my skin perfectly, and I've had no breakouts or any ill effects. Definitely recommend this and will repurchase.
Gentle yet effective waterproof mascara remover
So I purchased this based on the many YouTube videos and a Vincent that I was causing damage to my under eye skin when removing the last vestiges of waterproof mascara that cleansing oils and high end facial cleansers could not remove. I actually purchased the pump version, which does not appear to be available any more. My routine- cleansing oil, Sensibio (with Shisedo cotton squares), and then face wash. What I like is how gentle and non-drying yet not greasy The product is. I saw recently that Biore is marketing a miceller cleansing water in a bottle that looks suspiciously like the Bioderma. Not sure if it is comparable. However, I would definitely repurchase this product and recommend it to friends.
Super soft
So, I'm a big fan of WG and Japanese brushes. I've been lurking and waiting to try his brush collection and thought that this one had a lot going for it. I really use everything but the foundation brush regularly (just don't use liquid foundations that often and haven't found any other use for the brush). What I appreciate is how soft the brushes are, especially for the the delicate skin on and around the eyes. I also find that applying eyeshadow and highlighters is a snap with gorgeous results. They blend like a dream and place product on the skin without pulling or tugging. You can blend and blend and blend for days...your skin I'll look and feel fantastic. WG has really developed a quality line of brushes and I would definitely recommend them for someone who can afford to splurge and who will use at least 3 of the brushes daily or who is a MUA.
