Beauty Product Reviews
For that person who is looking for more than a tinted moisturizer.
I usually put my clients in this foundation, if they are looking for something that is going to give them more color than a tinted moisturizer, have oily skin and don't like TOO much on their face, for that new comer to foundation, but really viturally anyone can use this foundation. I found myself at first skeptical because I'm always used to medium to full coverage, and I didn't think this product would be up to par. But this summer I decided to take the plunge and try it for myself, and I fell in love with it. It's buildable, and it's nice because it's lightweight BUT gives more coverage than what I thought. Instantly I was a fan and I had to pick myself up a bottle. I love that it's plastic, and compact so that I can take it to the pool, or on the road with me, I really LOVE that feature of it. Also, it's nice because it gives just enough to help hide those pesky blemishes. You want to make sure that you shake the bottle at least 5-8 seconds before applying, because of it's water base. Also, make sure you get matched because there is two groups to this foundation: Beige for the yellow undertones, and beige rose for the pinky. I had always thought I was more yellow undertone, but when I was matched for beige rose, I saw that it really brought out some natural color, which is something I want.
These are PERFECT for people who don't want a tacky gloss, or a heavy lipstick. These are hydrating, giving your lips a very seductive glaze. I have Boy, Evasion, and Biarritz. They are not going to stay on as long as a lipstick, but you can always layer with a hint of lipliner to darken the color. It's nice and sheer, so for that person who wants to get a lipstick but is a little intimidated with the color, I'd go with these for sure. P.S. They're coming out with a few new colors next year. Yippee!
These are a goldmine. I know, 36 dollars for one of those pots is pretty steep. I've owned mine since the release and I still have not made a dent into mine, and I use them everyday. I bought Illusoire, Epatant, Mirifique, Emerveille, and Ebloui. I didn't buy Fantasme at the time because I didn't think I would use it as much, and boy am I kicking myself right now. Fantasme is still sold out nationwide, and that is really crappy. You DO want to make sure to NOT leave the pot open as you work on your eyes, because the contents will dry and shrink. So please, please, PLEASE make sure you are closing the pots nice and tight. You can apply with fingers, quickshadow brush, and I use a combination of both. Unlike other cream shadows, these are nice because you can blend right away with your regular shadows. You don't have a time limit like the MUFE colors, and they give LONG lasting shimmer and color all day. They are buildable, and can be used as liners. If your looking to treat yourself, I say you induldge in Chanel and buy these little miracle workers.
This powder is awesome, yes, it is a bit on the pricey side, but when you're looking to buy Chanel - isn't that the price you're going to pay? Look at it this way, you're investing your money into something that is going to feel so nice on your face, and makes it feel like you are not wearing anything. It's nice that you can wear it either wet or dry (though I always tell my clients to try it dry first) One swipe and you have instant flawless coverage. It's great to take on the road and use when you need to touch up, just make sure you take time to match yourself, because there are a ton of colors.
This product is amazing.
This is the first product I have ever tried from Laura, and it is amazing. I've worked with a couple of clients with very, very dark spots, and it makes it look like they never had spots ever. I do set it with a pressed powder to ensure that it will last, but it really does what the name says. I use it when I have blemishes as well for my tattoo.
This foundation is not for me. I don't have oily skin by all means, but wearing this, even with a soft pressed powder my skin feels almost greasy and I feel like I haven't washed my face. Also, I have broke out right in my T-zone with this product. I will not be buying this in the future, but hey, girl's gotta experiment, right?
This product is okay: not good, not bad, just okay. When they say that there is little play time with this product, they mean it. I use these often, but mainly with my vivid colors because they really do make a nice base and the color much more vibrant. This product can be applied by a finger or a brush, and for the time to play with it, I just use my finger. I would not use these products everyday, but on some occasions and photoshoots I definitely recommend them. When it comes to long wear, I do prefer Chanel's Illusion D' Ombre.
I use this product every day, and for this being a drugstore brand this is really a great product. You want to make sure when you do this that you have your own eyeliner brush because the applicator that it comes with is really not that good (especially if you wing out your liner like I do.) Second, be very careful with this product for it some times will get clumpy if you take too much onto your brush, so I usually put my angled liner brush in the pot, then dab it gently on my hand before applying. Finally, make sure you layer with shadow, because for me, it does smudge, and I do find I spend some time cleaning the smudgies on my face. All in all this is a GREAT product for the price.
This product is absolutely amazing. It's worth every penny. I do wish since it is limited edition that the packaging was well, more festive because honestly the case does this fabulous product no justice. When I first opened the product it was just so beautiful, and even today with how much I use it, I still can't believe I ruined the beautiful design. This is a must have and you should definitely get it, hands down best product ever.
