Oh, primers...
And by primers, I mean every single primer, EVER, which I have hated since I started doing makeup. Each one I try slides off my combination/oily skin.... leaving me with a patchy makeup finish after finding a flawless makeup routine through years of trial and error.
So then I thought, "what if I take a different approach to priming skin?"
Embryolisse is amazing; I have loved each of the products from their brand that I have tried. The reason I agree with this one is because although I have seenough people with a similar skintone to myself review it poorly, it does exactly what I need without clogging up my face and body. Even after just a thin layer of this in the face, the skin is visibly more even, filling in and absorbing the product right away. In minutes, your face is set and ready for foundation application. This product reminds me so much of a regular lotion, but it's so versatile. I can't compare it to any kind of silicone primer; it's more like a supercharged moisturizer! This brand has a ton of experience in skincare and is touted by celebrity makeup artists all over -- I knew NONE of that before trying it. Does me good at a reasonable price! Now my priming worries are solved, and my skin looks better than when I was using silicone primers! Win win!
Gorgeous look, Quality feel!
I bought this full set when it was like, 30/40% off on SP's website, just because their brushes have always appealed to me INTENSELY. I lose my wits when I see how adorable they are. When I bought them, I had come to accept that every thing I had tried from Sugarpill was amazing, so that if these sucked, I couldn't be upset because at least they were gorgeous, right?
Honey, these brushes show up to WORK.
The Precision Eyeliner brush has just enough give that it applies with less tug-and-pull of a felt tip, but just enough structure that the fibers don't splay, and the tip doesn't give you that god-awful spring-back that destroys your eyeline. It also doesn't hold too much product (unless you load it up with too much, just sayyiiinnngg) so you can really control what you're doing. For any gel liner look, this is my bay-bay.

The Tapered Blending and Crease brush is advertised perfectly: It's tapered, and blends the crease area. BOOM! You wanna use it for other stuff, go ahead, because I sure do:
- BLENDING OUT A NOSE CONTOUR! LADIES (and gentlemen), it's IMPORTANT to apply and blend contours using two separate brushes to ensure the look is controlled and not heavy! THIS BRUSH DOES A GREAT JOB OF THAT! For anyone who bought this brush and decided it didn't work for their eyes, TRY IT ON YOUR NOSE! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!
- Blending out a BIG eyespace: I have a larger eye-space than most men I see, which I look at as a blessing -- I get more room to play with color and shadow! This brush blends out my crease perfectly, but that's because I have a big space to blend. If you don't have a lot of space, get a smaller brush and use this for your nose or something.
All in all, this brush makes my dreams come true. I use it for every face, and I do mean EVERY face I do.

This brush is amazing for picking up a serious amount of product, whether you're using it for your lips, or applying precise creams or powders with opaque coverage. I use this for several things:
- Lips (duh)
- Browbone highlight / conceal blending
- Applying precise face powders to create shapes (I use this and Tako to give myself that diva-tip nose by gently tapping the shadow onto the area and allowing it to 'bake' for a bit.
- Contouring with creme for nose area (sometimes you just need that precision!)
- Blending out pencils on the eye area
- Precisely diffusing any liner, lip, eye, face, anywhere!
I LOVE this brush; the look, the feel, everything!

I use this every time I am basing out my eye with a good powder (Tako, Heart-shaped Cookie are my faves). This brush lays down a full, even layer of whatever color you ask of it, and is big enough to cover the entire lid in just a few swipes; I don't use it for anything else, even though its fibers make it pretty versatile. It's soft and yet 'grabby' enough to precisely apply highlight powder, or refine a contour if you wanted. It's just a wonderful brush.
Opaque, Fun, GORGEOUS!
I am a die-hard fan of Sugarpill, so when they released a nail polish collection, I had to try a couple. I own five or so, but I suppose I'll land on Catmosphere to review, considering it's the one I go to most.
Catmosphere is a perfect example of how adorable and effective Sugarpill's nail lacquers are. A gorgeous, powerfully opaque base with gorgeous sparkle. I like to play it safe and at least do two layers with most polishes, so when you do so with Catmosphere, it just sets it off so hard -- the sparkle is everywhere, the blue is nearly atomic in color quality, it just makes your hands a work of art you can't look away from. If you haven't tried these nail lacquers, even as an overlay, I highly recommend them.
Yes, Yes, YES!
I bought this brush because it's going to end up doing a bunch of different stuff for me throughout the years. I'll use it to blend out my eyebrow clean-up, my lip clean-up, basically any conceal clean-up I'll ever need to do. I saw how the artist in the Kevyn video for the Foundation brush was using it to apply highlight conceal and I was like "yeah no I have different plans for you baby" and BOUGHT IT RIGHT AWAY!
Here's what I can use it for:
- Apply ANY HIGHLIGHT cream ANYWHERE. This works great for bringing in that diva-tip nose during a drag look. That's actually what I first thought when I saw it.
- Clean up your eyebrows after filling in or drawing by applying a concealer or pencil (I use the MAC Studio Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20 and blend with this)
- Clean up your lips (I use the exact same product and process)
- Precise blending and diffusing pencils for body/face/eye use (I use this for when I'm creating a faux-crease during a drag look, and blend using this brush before setting the crease color with shadow.
- I guess you could use it for concealer too. I just use it for the nose, and try to avoid clogging up the brush with too much product. I know it's made for concealer, but I'm not taking any chances.
All in all, this brush does exactly what it is advertised to, and also about five or more other things. I'm not getting rid of it any time soon.
Finally found my skintone!
I know I already reviewed this, but that was for porcelain. I kind of just wanted to explode with joy again at the fact that I found MY skintone, FINALLY, in a foundation. I am so pleased. 420% on board with this brand!!
I'm in LOVE
Wow. This stuff really grabs. One of the only brands of liquid lipstick that does what it advertises, and that's the best advertisement I can give it. It really does show up to work.
LOVELY!
Got this as a gift for my coworker with the Red Lock case from Anna Sui -- she loved it! Adorable vanity aspect and beautiful color.
