Not great with powder
This is the first brow brush that I got to use with the Anastasia powder duo. At first I liked it (cause I knew no better...) but then I got more and more frustrated with it because it would take me so long to fill in my eyebrows for a natural result.
I heard that natural hair brushes apply powders better to the skin and switched to Wayne Goss 21 brush and now it takes me less then a minute to do both of my eyebrows. My brows are fairly large but I have a few bare patches where multiple hairs are missing and I need to fill in for a flawless look. The 7B brush required multiple applications to fill in those areas as it doesn't apply powder well to the skin.
I am not sure how it works with other brow products as I haven't tried any but powder, but my advise is don't waste your money on a synthetic eyebrow brush and get a natural hair one.
If you already have this or a similar brush, I found that using wax on the brows before application does help but again, compared to my new brush, it still takes a lot of product and time.
On the positive. the spoolie is very sturdy so at least I can keep using this brush for the spoolie side of it. Unfortunately I didn't get this product through Beautilish and it took me a few months of use to realise that I hate it and that's why I couldn't return it :(
Excellent product
This powder duo is well pigmented, creates a natural look and I like that it has two colours. I use the lighter colour for the beginning of the eyebrow and the darker for the tail. I have a few bare patches where 2-3 hairs are missing and the powder sits nicely on the skin and blends well with the hairs.
While the product itself is excellent, I found that the brush that you use to apply it makes a huge difference. I used to use the synthetic Anastasia 7B until one day I accidentally grabbed a natural fiber MAC eyeliner brush and it worked better than the 7B even though it was way too soft to properly use on eyebrows. This is when I decided to switch to a natural hairs brow brush and got the Wayne Goss 21. It works great with this powder duo and the application takes me less then a minute for both brows.
I haven't tried this product for colour in store but went off the reviews I found online. I am happy with the medium brown - I have naturally very dark eyebrow hairs while my skin is fairly light (for reference I use the BECCA mineral powder foundation in Sand) and the medium brown works well for me. Dark enough for the hairs but light enough to blend with my skin.
WOW so much better than a synthetic brush
This brush is amazing! I upgraded to it from Anastasia's 7B brush because I had to keep dipping the 7B into the powder (I'm using the Anastasia powder duo in medium brown) to get enough product on my brows and I was getting frustrated with it.
With Wayne Goss's 21 brush it takes me only 2 dips to fill in my brows, one for the lighter colour and one for the darker colour and I have fairly large brows! The main reason I started filling in my brows is because I have a few bare batches where 2-3 hairs are missing, the 21 brush effortlessly places product on the skin, compared to my previous brush where I had to keep applying powder on the bare skin to fill it. I hardly use any product with the 21 brush and it takes less then a minute! I cannot describe how well it works!
I wish I bought this brush to begin with and didn't waste my money on a synthetic brush!
One thing to note, I do have fairly large brows and since this brush is pretty wide (almost twice as wide as the Anastasia 7B), I'm not sure how it will work with very thin brows (not to say that it wouldn't but I can't comment).
