Beauty Product Reviews

STUNNING, JUST LOOK AFTER IT

I own the shades: King Tut, Lavender Snow, Peach Goddess, Ice Cold, Princess Cut

So there is a bit of negativity that surrounds this product which generally I disagree with. I think the highlight is stunning and really REALLY pigmented (you have been warned). I really appreciate how Beautylish packages them by wrapping the pan in bubble wrap/tissue paper inside the product's own packaging, and then wrapping that up as well. None of mine have ever arrived damaged and I think as long as you're not dropping them, they won't shatter either.

Onto the product itself, the highlight is very pigmented but it can be worn subtly, you just have to go in with a light hand. If I'm honest, I don't really like Lavender Snow on my complexion - I think it looks a little dirty on myself (approx. NC15). Ice Cold is my favourite for inner corner highlight and Princess Cut is my favourite for every day cheekbone highlight. King Tut has a strange texture in the pan though where it sort of 'flecks' off (for lack of a better word) but that doesn't effect the product when applied.

The only major issue I have is that the pans are annoyingly difficult to store and because they all look the same, it's difficult to quickly grab the one you want to use. I'm thinking about repotting them into smaller pans and making a Z Palette for them but am a little nervous at how the formula will perform after altered. I will update later with a picture if I decide to do it though.

I DON'T THINK I GET IT...

Maybe it's because I don't really 'get' cream highlighters, but I'm not a fan of this product. The Rose Gold shade is stunning, but i feel like it doesn't stay on my face for longer than an hour. It also has a bit of a funky smell to it as well (kind of like plastic?). I like to use it as cream eyeshadow for lazy days but I never use it as a highlighter. Also, I wasn't aware when purchasing that this is actually meant to be bought as an attachment to the 'Click Stick' so this product itself is VERY tiny! It can be used without the stick though so if you're just wanting to try this out, there's no need to own the whole thing.

YOUR FAVE NOW COMES IN A PACK OF 3

I mean, it's the classic beauty blender in a pack of 3, what's not to love? Super great price and you're able to try 3 different sizes (plus the tiny one is SO CUTE). I use the large pink one for general blending of primer, foundation etc, the medium grey for baking/contour, and the tiny green one for concealer (it's also great for under eyes/tricky spots that a regular beauty blender can't reach). Only issue I have is that it doesn't come with a holder like the regular beauty blender so I'm just leaving it on my bathroom bench until I can think of a better solution. All in all though, beauty blenders are radical and if you can afford it, it's a super way of applying make up.

OK BUT A LITTLE MEH...

I'll start off by saying I love most Jeffree Star products - this palette I wasn't a fan of though. I mainly purchased it because it was a JS product, so I guess it's really more my fault than anything but I was hoping this would take me out of my comfort zone and branch out into brighter and bolder colours.

The Good: I love how this palette has been designed and I think it's really helpful for those who are new to make up or experimenting with bright colours. (For those of you who don't know) each column can be paired with another column on either side of it to create a coherent look. I really love the combo of Princess, Violence, Confession and Vanity together (super stunning). The packaging is nice as well and comes with a great mirror.

The Bad: Unfortunately, the 'bright and bold' colours from this palette are not well formulated. 'Star Power' (pink) stains both skin and brushes, 'Expensive' (blue) and 'Black Rainbow' (black with rainbow glitter) are patchy and hard to blend but you can build them up with patience, and 'Rich Bitch' (gold) is too chunky.

All in all, I made this palette work for me by using it for pops of colours on my lower lash line but it is certainly not a go to in my collection. If you have the money to spend, I say go for it and get the palette but there are many others out there that are more usable and better quality. If you're like me and are wanting to branch out and try brighter colours, I'd recommend to get your hands on some good quality singles so you can see what shades you love to work with in a look.

YOU CAN STOP LOOKING NOW, THIS IS THE BEST HIGHLIGHT EVER

I don't think I can say more than this title. This product in 'Moonstone' is honestly my favourite highlighter on this planet! I've been using it for months and it adds the best glow to your face. Unfortunately, I smashed my pan from dropping it on tiles but I was able to salvage it for the mean time. It is a little pricey in my opinion though so I'll be holding off until I've entirely finished my current one before I repurchase - but I will definitely be repurchasing!

SO HANDY!

This stand is so fantastic! The damn thing is so handy to have and is great for drying your brushes. Sometimes I'll even use it just to hold all my everyday "go to" brushes so they're easy to just grab and it does a great job. Only a few issues I have with it is that the holes are oval shaped and don't hold most of my brushes straight so they'll lean to the side (not terrible, just annoying). Also, because it is shipped "flat packed" the pieces are very tight and hard to click in at first, but over time they become too loose (I'm not assembling it and disassembling it either, this has just happened after being knocked around a little). I do really recommend it though - it's one of the easiest ways to dry your brushes!

LOVE THIS S#!T

This is the best setting powder for those who don't like to fuss too much. You can use it to set and bake AND it's entirely translucent (no colour indeed). Leaves the skin feeling super soft as well which is very nice. The only downfall is the packaging, but tbh for the price it's definitely workable. I bought a medium sized container from a $2 that allows me to just pop my brush in, tap off the excess and then apply and it works fantastic.
