Beauty Product Reviews

Good, but maybe a bit over-hyped.

To give you some background on where I'm coming from: I have used several different makeup removers lately, from various forms of wipes and liquids, and even coconut oil. Most recently, however, I had been using the Boscia cool cleansing oil and LOVED it. Even for my combo skin, it did really well. It removed all of my makeup down to the last fleck of mascara. I gave this Bioderma a shot because one of my favorite YouTubers - KathleenLights - swears by it. My makeup: I generally do a full face of makeup. Every thing from primers (face, eye and sometimes lip) to concealer, transition shades, brow pomades, liquid liner, everything. My review: Bioderma is very sensitive and has not broken me out, nor irritated my skin or eyes. I saw that another reviewer said she felt like she could pour this in her eye, and though I wouldn't recommend it, I have to agree. It does not leave a film, and does not overdry. This is the first liquid, no-rinse makeup remover I've used that wins in both of those areas. Very impressive. Also, a little goes a long way. I will soak one round cotton square and remove half a face worth of makeup, all the way down my neck as well. With that being said, this does not remove all of my eyeliner/mascara. Yes, I watched the video Bioderma released showing the professional's way of using the product, and yes, I did it exactly that way. Without fail, even if my lashes look free of mascara, when I take my next shower, I come out with black rings around my eyes. Every single time, without fail. I currently use UD's Perversion mascara - not water proof. But, like others are saying, it is quite difficult for such a mild liquid to break down the generally thick and pigmented consistency of a quality mascara. So I'm giving it 4 stars. It definitely deserves 4 stars.
