Tarte for True Blood™ Limited-Edition Palette

First time using Tarte Shadows
This Palette was my first introduction into using Tarte's eyeshadows. I am so glad that I picked it up. Mainly because I am a fan of the show and the books, but it looked really fun and I am a sucker for colorful palettes. The colors are versatile and super pigmented, the eyeliner glides on smoothly, and I really liked the way the mascara worked with my lashes. I use this for day or night looks since there is such a wonderful combination of both evening and daytime shadows. Highly recommend!
Great Colors!
I'm not a huge palette fan, but I am a huge True Blood fan and a huge makeup fan, so after I saw a friends and fell in love with the color I decided to go ahead and get my own. And let me tell you, it was so worth the money. The shades are all gorgeous colors, and they all mix well with each other. It's super easy to create a day look or a night look. I also love the mascara and eyeliner it came with.
My first Tarte palette!
I saw this in stores at Ulta, didn't buy it. Decided I wanted it and couldn't find it! I found it at Sephora.com and I am so glad I bought it. My favorite shades are the intense sparkly silver paired with the matte eggplant shade. I wish the packaging was a little more streamlined than it is, it's kind of bulky, but I love love love the shadows and its money well spent!
Fang-tastic!!!
Gorgeous palette, excellent in both neutrals and matte darks, but the standouts are the high impact glittery shades. You need very little product to create a gorgeous, eye-catching, fairy-like effect. The tutorial looks provided are great and so are all the products. The mascara was great, one of the better ones I've tried in a awhile and the gel liner is instant drama (a practiced hand is definitely required for proper application). I wasn't really impressed with the primer but I think that's negligible considering how fantastic the rest is. I also encourage everyone to get the gel blush and matching lipstain. Beautiful sheer, cherry-scented products than transition perfectly between day and night looks.
Not what I expected.
I am a sucker for palettes but I would never pay full price for a product from a company I've never tried before, so when this went on sale at Sephora I bought it right away. What drew me to this palette was not only the packaging but also the great reviews and tutorials I saw on youtube. However I wasn't really aware that there were so many sparkly and glittery shades. I'm more of a matte shadow kind of girl and this palette is completely overloaded with sparkles, rendering it largely useless to me. I do appreciate the big mirror and the eyeliner, my mascara and eyelid primer were both dried out beyond usefulness. I layer the liner over regular pencil liner and they both stay all day, no smudging at all.
I have to admit I only bought this because I am a fan of the books and show, but I had never tried Tarte so this was perfect for me to try out. I fell in love with Tarte and have purchased more products from this line. With this pallette, you get a variety of shades as well as an eyeliner, mini mascara, and primer. The primer is fantastic, works as well as Urban Decay only not as creamy to glide on. The mascara worked well but the eyeliner, not so much. Its a gel eyeliner in a stick so it is a little messy to apply. The eyeliner is so creamy that it breaks easily from the pencil, making it hard to put on. I find that with a light hand and small strokes, I can get the eyeliner on easily. That being the only downside, the shadows are blendable and very pigmented. Love that it's an all natural brand too.
I loveeeeeeeeee it!
My sister gifted this to me as an early Christmas present when it went on sale at Sephora because I was drooling over it for awhile. I've been using it almost daily for the past week or so and I'm in love with it. I love the wide range of 17 colors. You can do a dark sparkly rocker look or something soft and natural because it has so many shades to choose from. There is a color called "The True Death" that's a silver I'm really digging. It's such a pretty reflective silver. The aqua-gel liner is amazing. I use it on my waterline. It's so smooth and has no drag. It's like wearing your best gel liner without messing around with brushes. The primer included is great too. It's the only primer I've ever liked as much as urban decays and is really very similar. The mascara is kind of "meh", but I'm happy with everything else in the box.
