Pure Maracuja Oil

Ah, Maracuja Oil. It's great for the skin. It's truly lovely. As the description clearly states, it's also known as "Passion Flower Oil" and often "Passion Fruit Oil". All Tarte did was add a hint of a vitamin E derivative to offer some stability and extend shelf life while bringing in antioxidants. That's it...that's all it is.

I was gifted a tiny bottle and when I saw the price, I was so angry that a friend would spend so much money on what could easily be found on shelves for a teeny bitty amount of cash.

Skip this from Tarte and the pretty, purple bottle..., but keep the Maracuja Oil. Look instead for Cold Pressed Passion Fruit Oil or Cold Pressed Passion Flower Oil and add a drop of E to your bottle. That's all the ingredients are. Tocopherol is a fancy way of saying "a form of Vitamin E that is derived from X oil". Vitamin E is a stable and reliable way to bring all those benefits into your Passion Fruit/Maracuja. Keep your facial and body oils protected from light, and storage is an area a bit on the cooler side.

For some with pore clogging skin issues, E can occasionally be problematic, so you may not want to add E to your oil. With any new skincare product, always test patch. Oil is a sealant and it will only offer moisture on the uppermost layer of the skin. You can increase hydration by making a cocktail of your favorite moisturizer with a drop or two of this, or use alone if you only need a hint of dew. For very dry folks, a drop added to foundation should help you and give a bit of glow to your complexion.

You don't need Tarte for this. I promise you. Go ahead and do a web search for "Cold Pressed Passion Fruit Oil"...or "Passion Flower Oil" and then take a deep breath because if you bought this expensive little bottle, you may be kind of upset that you've been sold an overpriced bag of goods. That's on Tarte and not the consumer. If you like this, you may enjoy one of "The Ordinary" cold-pressed oils. Those are of fine quality and definitely affordable. You want "cold pressed" for certain to maintain maximum facial oil benefits.

Please, save yourself a TON of money in the future by saying farewell to this insanely priced madness while sending a message to Tarte that you are an educated consumer who won't be duped by pretty packaging.

I always thought I had oil skin but once I started using this I realized my face was so dry that it was producing oil to overcompensate. This has such a light feeling, I use it as my daily moisturizer now. Super gentle and doesn't cause breakouts. My skin drinks it up!

For the past two years I make sure to buy this oil when ultra has their 21 days of beauty sale and it is 50% off. A tiny bit goes a long way. So it does last me a year for the full size. I have added this into my beauty routine about two years ago and I love it. After using my clarisonic I use a bit of this to prevent the new layer of skin getting dry patches or just overall dry.

I got this and an eye cream for ten bucks at the check out counter worth giving it a try for such a great cost a little goes along way feels like a slight gel so me absorbs into skin making face feel nice and silky

Amazing!!! I started replacing my moisturizer with this oil! My skin is looking hydrated and not dull!!! I used to use the cetaphil moisturizer and I just felt like I just put on a layer or lotion and it would just stay on top of my skin instead of absorbing ! I have dry skin with oily t zone. This is 100% pure maracuja oil and it works wonders. I know a woman who uses this oil who is in her 60s and has better skin than most women half her age. It moisturizes, evens skin tone, and helps prevent fine lines and wrinkles. Tarte is also a cruelty free brand <3

I have combo skin and didn't know what this oil would do to my face but it has dramatically decreased my acne scars. It gives me a healthy complexion. It's so light I could probably get by with using it in the morning under my makeup. Definitely going to try mixing it with my regular moisturizer like everyone says!

So hydrating & soothing to irritated, dehydrated skin. A little goes a long way. Doesn't break me out. And can be mixed with moisterizer or foundation. Your skin will wake up feeling so soft and relieved.

Got this in a gift set for Christmas this year. at first I had no idea what it was for and thought it was weird. BOY WAS I WRONG. if you combine this with your favorite moisturizer it works wonders. I use this mostly in the winter because my face gets so dry. Will probably repurchase. So why only four stars? What holds me back from making this a five star product is the smell. If I'm going to put it on my face and get it so close to my nose, I want it to smell better. It isn't a horrible smell, but wish it was better. Other than that, it's great.
