Obsessed.
I did not want to like this product - it's so expensive! But unfortunately, I find it to be worth every penny. I've been dealing with a lot of stress (haven't we all) and dry skin lately, and this has really made a difference. I smooth a light layer all over my face at night and allow it to dry before going to sleep. I don't find it necessary to wipe off any excess, as it soaks right in. In the morning my skin is plump and dewy, and the texture is much smoother. I need to be careful, or I'll go through this way too quickly.
It’s a lovely cream and overnight mask but sisley keeps upping there prices every year and a half and now that this is over $150 dollars for less than two ounces it’s just not feasible to purchase when you can find other great skincare for half of money. But if you have the money do it! It’s beautiful and plumps you’re skin and makes it look dewy and fresh the next day.
Nice Texture, Especially Under Makeup
It's a cream. It sits nicely under makeup. If you're under 30, chances are you don't need to splurge on this like you think you do, speaking from experience. Otherwise, the experience while using this product was consistently nice.
Excellent for Soothing Skin
I am in my late 40s and use Retin-a (a high dose) for adult acne. I also have super-sensitive skin. I read that this was an Allure Beauty "Splurge" item, so I splurged. It makes me love my skin again. After cleansing and toning, my skin is tight and dry from the Retin-a. This mask soothes these properties very well. After rinsing it off, my face is ready for serums and moisturizer. I'm so sorry the other reviewer developed blisters from it--sounds like a bad allergy to an ingredient or two. But, I have Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, Super sensitive skin AND use Retin-a (which makes skin even more sensitiive) and have loved this mask. Don't shy away. Give it a shot!
My Favorite Moisturizing Mask
I've used the Black Rose mask for several years now. It works very well for me as a long time Retinol/Tretinoin user. It does not burn my skin, and it helps to plump up little fine lines, and leaves my skin super soft and supple. I do leave it on for longer than recommended and it always performs.
Not for me
I initially reviewed this product on April 12, 2018. As noted in my first review, it didn’t work out very well for me. It did nothing for my skin and I broke out in blisters the first time I used it. I decided to let those blisters heal and then try again. Crazy maybe, but this mask has so many glowing reviews around the internet I wanted to try again. Just in case the first time was a fluke. Not a fluke. Broke out in more blisters the second time around. I have to say this is puzzling to me since I don’t have sensitive skin and I have never had this reaction to the hundreds of skin care items I have slapped on my face over the years. But it was enough to convince me not to try again. Also, this mask dried out my skin rather than moisturizing it. I’ve noticed in a lot of reviews that people talk about how nice the smell is. Mine had no fragrance. None. Couldn’t even detect a slight scent of rose. All of these factors combined left me with my original conclusion; I must have received a bad batch. Sure won’t be trying it again. It went in the trash. Very expensive experiment gone awry.
Big fail
I’ve been wanting this product forever after reading glowing reviews all over the web. It did nothing for my dry skin, left it no more moisturized than anything else I’ve ever used. Worse, my face has broken out in blisters. I’ve used other rose based products before with no reaction so I don’t know what the problem is. But something doesn’t agree with me and I do not have sensitive skin. I have never had a bad reaction to any product I have ever used, so this was surprising to say the least. Maybe I got a bad tube but this will definitely be my one and only experience with Sisley.
