Sanskrit Saponins

this has been a staple in my skincare routine for 3 years now and I can't imagine my life without it. it's a Miracle. it works wonders for my hormonal acne. between birth control and ~regularly scheduled~ monthly outbreaks I pop this on and wear it as a mask overnight and wake up with my skin looking so much better. I use my regular cleanser rinse with cold water and massage this into my skin and ugh heart eyes the next morning !

I have oily skin so I thought this would work out great. You can call me a self-proclaimed skincare aficionado, most products I try work well for me because I do my homework before a purchase. Sadly, I wanted to love this as others have, but I didn't and don't. It's not the smell, to me it smells of "earth" but I don't care what a product smells like if it works well for my skin. After one use, the next morning my skin felt uber tight and dry (even without my usual AHA). The next few days I went back to my normal moisturizing routine and decided to give it another go. This time, the following day my skin was even drier than the first time! To be really real, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone even with oily skin unless you've got superrrrr clogged pores. I even factor in my climate and the other products I'm using in conjunction, I've never been this dry and flaky not even in the winter and I live in a Meditteranean climate. I hate returning products because it's always such a hassle so that's money down the drain for me. Try something else, my friend.

This brand is really cool and their packaging is beautiful, but I think that this formula just isn't right for my skin. I've been using it a couple of times a week for about a month and a half, and while there isn't usually much immediate irritation, I've noticed that after a few hours the skin on my cheeks feels quite rough and sensitive.

It's subtle enough that I don't feel I need to discontinue using it, but on the other hand, aside from the mild irritation I'm not really noticing any additional effects—good or bad!

This won't stop me from trying other NIOD products—I am definitely still on board, it's just that this one is sort of "meh" for the price point. Also, the smell is NOT as bad as the other reviews are stating. To me, it just smells a bit chocolatey and earthy.

This is a good cleanser, but I don't think that there's anything special about it. However, I LOVE that it's in a tube. Great for travel.

I have oily, sensitive, blemish-prone skin. My breakouts are very superficial but significantly decreased when using this stuff regularly. Blackheads in my nose are also significantly less apparent. I’m always sure to use it before bed on the days I visit the gym. And just before my monthly session of micro needling, this stuff is a must!

I’m new to Deciem (and didn’t make full switch to their products, until I finish my current batch of other brands Ive been using). I have pretty great skin, but the one thing annoyed me that I kept getting little blemishes on my nose, and I just couldn’t get rid of them!! I started using SS about a week ago, and they totally gone now! My pores are visibly smaller too. AND I LOVE THE SMELL!!!

I use Bio-Derma daily for light cleansing and eye make-up remover but lately I have been using this for a deeper in shower cleanser. Although there is no lather, it does leave my skin feeling extra clean. My skin and nose are extra sensitive and although it didn't smell like any particular fragrance I did not find the smell to be objectionable. I liked knowing that the ingredients are unrefined and plant based.

Works well with my clarisonic brush, cleanses well without stripping. Love the medicinal smell! I use it 3 - 4 times in a week, alternating with Omorovicza and other oil cleansers. I use this for when I need a deeper cleanse.

My colleague had given me a generous sample of this cleanser when she had purchased it forever ago and once we started carrying NIOD on the site, I knew I had to purchase my own tube! I like that it comes in a squeeze tube, very easy to use and allows me to control how much product I use. I use this probably about every other day, apply to dry skin, then use just a touch of water to spread all over then rinse off. This DOES NOT lather, so if you are into a foaming cleanser, this is not the one for you, its more akin to a milky cleanser. It really does help to decongest without stripping the skin of any essential oils or moisture and just leave it feeling clean and healthy.

The smell is not off putting to me, it's more sort of like...fresh earth? I will say that if you keep it for a really long time then the scent does turn into something a bit more weird but if kept and used once you pop open the seal on it, the scent is pretty nice. I took off one star because part of me wishes it had a flip top on it instead of a screwed cap but....I do like that its got that metal seal (the kind where you flip the cap to poke it open) so it stays fresh up until you break the seal!

To anyone who read the review that says this smells bad– they're crazy! This smells almost cocoa-buttery. I absolutely love the subtle scent.

It has a creamy consistency and glides over wet or dry skin well. I love massaging this into my skin and leaving it on for a few minutes. The tube says to only apply in AM or PM every other day, which I don't understand. I'm not sure what ingredients are too harsh for 2x daily use, but I'm treading with caution.
