Velocity Lightweight Moisturizer

Soft and Silky- great as a MU primer!
I love samples and trying products I haven't tried yet, so I was psyched when my gf who sells Mary Kay had all her samples with her. ( I've never tried AVON, Mark, or Mary Kay). I got a ton of samples from her and I already love the blushes. Plus, the samples are pretty hefty. The blushes say one use, but I got maybe 2 or 3 uses outta them, and the sample of this moisturizer will last you a good 4 days to a week if you use sparingly. This sample was quite generous and easy to use as you just cut the plastic pouch's top and dispense from there. It had a light scent and the lotion had an almost creme/gel consistency and a silicone feel once applied to skin. It kept my skin a little moist, and less flaky, and because it has that silky finish, it made for an ideal MU primer. I'm not always the biggest fan of that super silky feel, but this was still creamy and moisturizing and not only worked as a great facial moisturizer but would make a great primer. I'm all about using products that have multiple uses, so this one was great, especially seeing as how I got such a hefty sample- which gave me enough time to formulate an opinion and let me write an accurate review. I don't know if I would get it full size, or try it in combo with the rest of the Velocity line, but its is a pretty sound moisturizer/primer.
I'm not really a fan. I used this with the facial wash, which I was told I would break out really back in the first week, then my skin would improve and it'd clear up my acne in a week or two. I think the moisturizer just dried out my skin and made it burn, which left my skin trying to produce more oil to make up for what was lost, and my acne never improved.
Everybody should have it.
Well they didn't lie when they said lightweight. Sometimes moisturizers make your skin feel greasy and bleh but it's just moisturizing and that's it. my face is soooo soft after using this and it goes on nice and smooth. LOVE this it's a must have with the face wash.
Despite the fact that my mother sells this stuff, I bought this product at the recommendation of one of her fellow reps. My skin maintains a delicate balance, at best, and I was told this line was great for people like me.
Both the cleanser and the moisturizer have the same distinct scent. I like the Velocity fragrance (it's sort of a fruity fresh floral), but I generally don't like scented skincare. It usually tells me that there's too much going on chemically, and my skin doesn't like that. It's not bothersome to apply and it doesn't linger, but I feel like it did irritate my skin if I had any all-ready-irritated areas.
People assume that blemish-prone skin is always oily. This is not the case. In the heat of the summer, my skin is combination. Otherwise, I am as dry as dry can be. This moisturizer is SO LIGHT that I actually started to flake after a week or so. It's just too light for me. If you have more combination-leaning-oily skin, this might be great for you, especially under makeup. It absorbs so quickly I hardly even knew I still had it on, and needless to say there was absolutely no residue left in its wake.
Bottom line, if you're combination-to-oily and don't want a heavy moisturizer, this might be a good line for you. If you like scented skincare products, this might be a good option. But it's not one-size-fits-all-blemish-prone-skintypes, and if you're looking for something more moisturizing, this probably isn't your product.
