Lovely Foundation
I hate how much I love this foundation to be honest. Out of all the foundations I've tried this is by far the best one, and the only one that doesn't crease/look dry around my mouth and chin by the end of the day. I wouldn't say the finish is dewey, it's more like a demi-matte on me. I don't find its scent particularly overwhelming but if you're sensitive to fragrances it might bother you. Taking a star off for the price and for the shade range, the lightest shade is still too dark for me (I'm around an NC10 in Mac shades) and it doesn't seem too friendly for deeper/medium deep skin tones. It sits nicely over my Japanese sunscreens (which are also my primers) and doesn't break down too much by the end of the day. Since it's too dark for me I prefer to mix it with other foundations and the results are very beautiful when paired with a more moisturizing, dewier product.
This stuff is liquid perfection
La Mer gets it right every single time. The price of perfection however...is a totally different subject. It blends in like a second skin. The color that I chose is a little dark for me but..because this stuff is amazing ...it some how still works perfectly. Dont ask me...I've accidentally bought foundations that were too dark before and it's a disaster but in this case...it doesnt match but some how still does. Weird right? You can't go wrong with this stuff if you are 35 or older because at this point in our lives...we need full coverage that sits on your skin seamlessly and not thick. This is what this foundation does. You cant even tell it's on there yet it still looks medium to full coverage. 100% obsessed and I'll never stop buying it
Super luxurious
Okay so after about a year of wanting this foundation i finally got the courage to buy it. Especially without being able to see it in person and color match myself. I ordered 310 which is a smidge darker then i would like but once it’s on with concealer and powder it’s not so bad. I’m actually pretty happy with the product but my only complaint is the smell. It has this very awkward smell to it. It’s not a floral scent. It’s almost like a light lemon smell. It’s very weird. But it doesn’t go away after about 15 to 20 minutes. Thank god my setting spray has a scent to neutralize this one.
The ONE
I’ve tried just about every foundation on the market and each one failed me in someway or another. I give all foundations a chance with repeated usage and with different primers (and without). I’m almost 40 and have, slightly textured combination skin with fine lines and (gasp) wrinkles and it’s hard to find a foundation that works beautifully and has good coverage but looks natural without looking Cakey and settling in said lines. While I cringe at the price of this foundation, I can’t help but have fallen in love with this. The finish is beautiful, not matte and not super glowy...it’s a just right satiny finish. It doesn’t settle at all in any of my lines (my lines are deep in between my eyes and my forehead) and it honestly just looks flawless.
Real skin look with comfortable, long wear
This is a repeat purchase for me. I have an issue with 95% of the foundations on the market today in that they feel drying and are drying to my skin, constantly pull out moisture, and most of them just don't perform or look as natural as they claim. I'm a Goldilocks of foundation. It takes a lot for me to fall in love. I fell in love with the Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation from La Mer. It blends out beautifully. It does not get stuck in or pool in my pores. It wears all day and into the evening. When I am ready to remove it, it looks just as beautiful as when I applied it. It does not pull my skin tight or drain it of moisture. The finish looks like real skin. I don't have to use industrial strength makeup removers to completely remove it and it has not caused any issues with sensitivity. It does build well, but I prefer to spot conceal if I am needing extra coverage. The finish is soft with a slight sheen. I wait a few minutes to let it set/dry down and find that I only need to powder around the sides of my nose and on my chin, just my preference for where I like to be matte. I hope they keep making it. It's hard to find foundations like this. It definitely stands out from a sea of mask-like foundations on the market today.
Great foundation
I really love this foundation..the finish is great..i truly love it. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because I ordered shade 32 beige and i received 31 beige, so the color is off just a bit. I would have returned it but my work hours are crazy and im always at work when the post office is open..so ive been bronzing it up to make it work but it really is a great foundation! I recommend anyone try it! Ps..i have combo skin but mostly oily..
Head Over Heels
Okay. I bit the bullet & purchased this. I was afraid color matching online but I used my Sephora skin ID code to kind of guide me. It matched great. Super Dewey, NO oxidation. Plus skin care benefits. So many reasons to love it.
My ONLY complaint is that it is scented to high heaven, so much so that it gave me a little headache. So I stood in front of a box fan for a solid 5-10 minutes until I felt like it diffused somewhat. & hit it hard with coconut setting spray.
The best foundation out there
I’ve struggled for years to find a perfect foundation! I used to use Estée Lauder double wear and found that it would leave my face cakey and separate when my oils would start coming through later in the day. The La Mer is my holy grail and yes- it has a holy grail price tag. This makes my skin look so perfect without looking like I have on foundation. It has a natural finish and lasts 12 hours throughout my workday amazingly. It has the most beautiful skin-like finish unlike any other foundation out there. It has a distinctive smell that dissipates after application. It goes on and blends like a dream. I have oily skin in my T zone and even as the oils start to come through after 6-8 hours it doesn’t break the foundation down or leave any weird patches/ separation. I can easily apply some powder and be good to go for another 6-8 hours. I can’t say enough good things about this foundation!
