Fu-Pa Series FU-PA03 Powder/Liquid Foundation Brush

I was looking for a dupe for the Westman Atelier Blender Brush, and although I do own a couple of Westman Atelier brushes, I did not want to spend $125 for a single synthetic brush. This Fu-Pa Brush seemed the like the closest in aesthetic and function, and although it is not inexpensive, it's a reasonable price for this caliber of brush. I tried it out today with my Westman Atelier foundation, and it buffed the foundation beautifully. It is the softest synthetic foundation brush that I own. I'm excited to try this with my Pat McGrath foundation and other foundations. I also purchased the Fu-Pa mini foundation brush in the same style, but I prefer this wider, full version of the brush. As other reviews have mentioned, I got a streak-free, airbrushed finish using this brush. Highly recommend!

This is the very first natural hair foundation brush I have ever used. I usually use either a beauty blender or a synthetic foundation brush, but I think I am converted. The hairs are soft on my skin, but densely packed. I find that I use substantially less foundation to achieve the same amount of coverage that my previous methods of application did on me. I don’t have any streaks and I haven’t experienced any shedding. Unfortunately, this means I must now go further down the rabbit hole of natural foundation brushes. Wish me luck. I (just now as I write this) ordered another koyudo foundation brush. Oh, and I love the little stand that it comes with too! I absolutely think this brush is well worth it and the quality is amazing.

Soft and dense, this brush will give you an airbrushed effect. Makes quick work of a full face given the size of the brush. Cute wee handle, not long but sits comfortably in the hand. A striking faint dark green metallic tinge to the black handle in the light. Well made brush, great for travel. Totally recommend.

I normally use a dense oval shaped kabuki that is pretty small. Normally I have to go back over it to make sure i don't accidentally leave streaks.

This brush is amazing. I generally don't leave positive reviews, or skip doing them, but this is really so beautifully executed that it's hard to believe how effective it is.

It is dense, super dense, and soft. It picks up as much or as little as you need and buffs it on. In fact it's hard to describe how well it works. I need less powder, the foundation (currently Neutrogena Hydro Boost tinted foundation) sets better. I get great coverage, but I don't get streaks.

I am not exaggerating when I say that the search for the perfect foundation brush is over! I have tried quite a few foundation brushes only to go back to the beautyblender. Before trying out the FU-PA 03, I have found that most foundation brushes require more effort to work the product into the skin than the beautyblender. In certain instances, I would actually have to follow up with a beautyblender after using a brush to apply foundation due to the streaking.

When I first tried the FU-PA 03, I was blown away by how effortlessly the brush glided the foundation onto my skin with absolutely no streaking. I only needed to work the foundation into the skin minimally before achieving a result I have never seen with any foundation brush. My foundation looked so smooth with my Jouer Essential High Coverage Creme Foundation. I was just shocked by how plastic perfect my skin looked! Of course, this has to do with the foundation also as the Jouer is very high coverage. However, this is the most amount of coverage I have gotten from the already high coverage foundation. It is also the best result I have gotten with this foundation both application wise and with the finished result.

The brush is the perfect density to move the product around and spread it out seamlessly. The bristles are ultra soft on the skin and product washes out easily as well. I have recommended this to a client and I was happy to hear that she loves this brush too. I can’t wait to try this brush with different liquid and powder foundations and I’ll be sure to report back with the results!
