Matte About You Matte Finisher

I like this matte top coat. On top of regular nail polish, it gives the effect that looks like a chalk board. I especially like it over black nail polish and then add different details with regular nail polish. The effect is really cool, almost gives it a 3D effect. I can't compare to other matte top coats, but I would continue using it until a better one come out.

I have to admit I'm biased; this is the only matte top coat I've tried but I love it. You can really build up the intensity of the 'mattress' by building up the coats. It does chip faster than glossy top coats I find which kind of sucks. does anyone know if all matte top coats do that?

I love this topcoat! I have used the matte magic by china glaze (which is now discontinued) and i was very unimpressed. My last bottle of CG matte magic dried up in the bottle before i had the chance to use it all.. I wasn't happy. The Essie matte about you is amazing. It's fast drying and is reasonably priced.

I love this product. My nails look really cool after using this product. I am definitely a fan of it. However you have to be very careful because it could crease or make prints into the nails that you don’t want to be there. It is a great effect to the nails, I really like it!

As much as I quite like matte nail polishes, I found this top coat to be of poor quality. I've never had an issue with any of my other Essie nail polishes expiring too soon, but this one barely survived a couple hours after applying. Made me very sad.

I was so excited to try this product when I first heard about it. I bought it at Ulta for around $10 but I've seen it elsewhere for around $8. I absolutely love the matte finish but within a few hours of painting them, I saw my nails start to chip. Although the matte look is pretty, I probably won't purchase this product again.

I was so excited when I saw this product in a store because I have seen photos with it. I applied my nail polish on and then I apply the matte coat, replacing my top coat, and it looks really matte! Even if you end up putting on a glossy top coat and decide to mattify it, you can!

I have some Matte nail polish that I wanted to use a top coat and keep it Matte. I rec'd a coupon in the mail for $2 off any polish and another $2 off for any top coat, base coat, or other type product of Essie. Since Essie is $8 a bottle, I thought I would give it a try. I used a grey matte polish, two coats. Then I added silver tiger stripes and topped it off with a coat of Essie Matte About You. In about an hour, I had a couple nails chipped already. I didn't do any thing, no typing, no dishes, nothing. Just watched tv. The next morning, after my shower, half the polish on all my nails was gone! I have never seen that before! So, IMO, this is a pass. I have read some had great exp. Perhaps I got a bad bottle or something. I bought a bottle of Hard Candy Matte-ly In Love and it was on for four days before I noticed tip wear. I still have the Essie so I might try again, but it is not my go to Matte top coat.

This is such a fantastic product. It can completely change the flavor of polishes you already own - I love how it works over any polish and any color. At $10, the price was a little steep, but for what it does I'd definitely buy it again!

I love the Matte Nail trend and if u love it, You def need this in your collection. Goes on smoothly and dries super fast. One thing i did notice that if u rub on the polish or it gets crazy oily that it does take the matte finish away a lil but good otherwise
