Not your average highlight

This powder (I have satin and porcelain) is not your average metallic glitter fest product. It's a beautiful lit from within beam of light that is perfect for textured skin or anyone who doesn't need to be seen from Mars. It's beautiful!!

This is MAGIC!

I knwo I already reviewed this product, but the longer I use it, the more I love it! Let's just be clear. I am not some 20-something with beautiful, perfect skin. I am a 64 year old mother of 4 and grandmother of 11. Who says I can't still do everything I can to look as pretty as possible (without looking ridiculous, of course) if it makes me feel good? This gorgeous, delicate highlighter makes me feel pretty! It does NOT settle into lines and wrinkles, it does NOT make your pores look larger than they should. In short, you can achieve a lovely subtle glow that makes you look healthier and more youthful. How many pressed powders of ANY kind can do that on 64 year old skin? I have taken care of my skin and neck area all my life, and still do. I have tried other highlighters, but always gave up on them because honestly, they were just too "young" for me and I felt ridiculous in them. Not this one. It is the very first high-end makeup product I ever purchased, but I will buy it again and again. I will introduce my sister to it, and every lady I know young and old. I keep finding ways to use it. Inner corners of my eyes, over eye shadow, under and over my eyebrows. I even put a tiny bit of the powder into my clear top/base coat nail polish today and it looked glorious on my short thin nails. Oh, the possibilities! Just get it - it's worth every penny. And YOU are worth it!

Beautiful!

Just received this today, and put it on as soon as I got home from the post office. Wow! It truly is beautiful, even on 64 year old skin. I didn't want glitter, I just wanted a glow. This product absolutely delivers. It doesn't settle into lines or pores. It is not at all garish. It's amazing. Bonus - THE BEST customer service in the industry! Who gets an email from the CEO thanking them for their purchase! UM, Beautylish customers, that's who! I would not hesitate to order from this company again and again!

Subtle glow

This powder gives a subtle glow and blurs imperfection. It doesn't settle in wrinkles. I use the Chikuhodo Z1 brush to apply (the BEST buffing brush ever). If you want sheen though, best stick with Natasha's body glow powder.

I also bought satin glow because one of the reviewers mentioned using it to contour. It's too orange to contour although it looks nice on top of contour to blend it out. Stick with Kevyn Aucoin's contour powder in 'medium' or 'light' if you are want a contour product.

It comes in a single pan. I put it in my small aveda metal case. FYI, it is too big to fit in the new small eyeshadow Z-pallatte case.

Best Highlighter

I've tried a lot of highlighters - sticks, liquids, and powders - and this one is by far my favourite. I've tried stuff from Benefit, Laura Mercier, MAC, and Becca and the closest I could get to what I was looking for were MAC Strobe Liquid (not cream - but liquid is discontinued) and the Becca liquids.

What I was looking for was a skinlike, pearlescent, non-sparkly product that just catches the light and imparts a glow. No crazy YouTube/Instagram super highlighted sparkly cheeks, just a kind of glowing dewiness that makes the skin look healthy and glistening. This is super hard to find outside of a liquid product, and even then, I found the liquid products would dry throughout the day just leaving behind noticeable sparkles.

This product isn't at all like that. It has a pearlescent, glimmering quality but all the particles are super super super fine so no noticeable chunks of glitter ever appear. The texture is also creamy which means it truly doesn't highlight pores - I have enlarged pores on my cheeks and so this is important to me, and generally, powder products simply can't deliver on that front.

Unfortunately, that makes this product super hard to swatch or demo in a video. You really have to try it to see how beautifully it works. I'm a MAC NC20 and this is great for me. I could see it working on slightly darker skin as well. It came with a sponge but I've been using Wayne Goss' fan brush to apply it and it goes on beautifully.

Lastly, after putting on my make up I used to spritz with some kind of hydrating mist spray just to bring the dewiness back into my skin. I have oily skin so it's always a give and take - setting powders and mattifying powders are a must but I hate when my skin loses all its sheen. But now, with this product, I really can't justify misting my face.

It also really does last. I haven't done a full workday test run on it but it holds up for 5 or 6 hours, no problem.

IN LOVE

This is one of the prettiest highlighters I've ever worked with. If you are afraid of shimmer, but are looking for a way to bring light to the high points of your face, this is your highlight! The finish is more of a "Glow" as apposed to the normal sparkling or glittery finishes we see in many highlighting powders today. It is also long lasting and blends beautifully. Another hit from Ellis Faas!

Indescribable!

I'm convinced this is a product JLo uses. The name of this product is exactly what you get - a glow. This is unlike anything I own because its really not a highlighter. I got deep glow and its this beautiful coppery golden glow. It just makes my skin look incredible. The product just sinks into your skin and leaves no powdery residue. You can use a highlighter brush but it does come with a powder puff. Ellis Faas products continue to amaze me. with great, high quality products.

Lovely for Contour Too!

It's all about the contour and highlighting. For me, it's been a long, tiring, and expensive search for just the right shade of contour powder. This one's too dark, this one's too orangey, this one looks like "fake-a-tan"... And then I stumbled across Glow Up by Ellis Faas. The product line launched in 2009 in Amsterdam by MUA Ellis Faas. The powder itself is actually marketed more as a highlighting powder. I, however, having fair-light skin, thought it might also work well as a contour powder. I was right. The powder is very finely milled with a very subtle shimmer. No, not that glittery or overly sparkly club-type shimmer. It imparts a very flattering light-reflecive healthy glow. The powder is scent-free and also free of parabens. It does contain vitamin E making it a wonderful environmental protectant that is great for any skin type.

I purchased my Glow Up from Beautylish for $31.50. Please note, it does NOT come with the powder case which must be purchased separately for $12.50 (or $35 for a classic holder that holds additional product).

The powder is extremely easy to work with. Using a contour brush, I only had to lightly tap the pan to pick-up the perfect amount of powder for use. The powder did not fall off the brush and applied and blended smoothly. On application, I was able to achieve a perfect contour that looked very natural. The reflective properties of the powder does wonders to mask imperfections. The powder wore seamlessly all day (10 hours) until I removed it. I suspect it would have continued to wear well beyond the 10 hours. While I used Satin Glow as a contour, it would work very well as a highlighter; also imparting a satin, luminous glow (well-named product!)

Glow Up is available in three shades: Porcelain Glow, Satin Glow (which I purchased), and Deep Glow. The Satin Glow was true to pan shade on application. Because of the shade selection and the builability of coverage, most skin tones will be able to select just the right shade for the best match. http://mmrkt1.wix.com/binxcatsbeautyblog#!Ellis-Faas-Glow-Up-/c1rfl/8EC4FC59-D532-4E40-8B49-FE5752AA711A

Bea-UTI-ful!

Amazing, 110%!! No acne issues, lasts all day. I already ordered the porcelain shade for my nose and under my eyes since satin is a little too dark as a highlight.

Fantastic, not sparkly

This looks like a lit-from-within glow. I despise glittery, shiny, obviously-highlighter-y illuminators, and this is the greatest I've tried out of everything (and I've tried many). This is my favorite!

I also love this on the inner corner of my eyes instead of anything else for highlighting because it doesn't draw the eye as a focal point and gives a really nice subtle look.

Even though I am very pale, I love the fact that there's a dark color for those with deeper skin tones.
