Orange Essence Facial Cleanser

I have dry skin and I almost never get acne, but this cleanser somehow managed to make me break out with pimples on my cheeks and chin during the 2-ish weeks that I was trying it. It has now been several months since I last used this cleanser, and I haven't gotten a single pimple since then. I read the ingredients list and found that one of the ingredients is vegetable oil, which is known to be comedogenic, so I'm guessing that is what it was that caused the acne. Also, it left my face feeling slightly sticky. I won't be using this cleanser again.

This facial cleanser works very well on my skin type! I don't generally have dry or oily skin, pretty normal skin, but for me it worked great and kept acne down. However, I don't know how it effects other skin types. I love the smell, supper citrussy (if you don't like orange scent this is not for you) It leaves you feeling fresh! This product doesn't work if you don't pat dry though. If you wipe it off then the coating on the outside of your skin comes off so it's very important to pat it dry. I love this product and that its natural! would defiantly buy again! xoxo

I got this in a Burt's sampler kit many years ago. I love the packaging. Its cute, small, portable and has plenty of product packed in the tube. It has a great, sweet, almost orangey/citrusy candy smell, which is pretty strong, but fine in my opinion. I love how natural the product is- its sort of a grainy, viscous gel, yellow-orange in color. There's nothing artificial about it, no fake colors or foaming agents, so keep that in mind. Because its so natural, the orange oil will separate and head to the top, so do shake the product first, or mix it in your hands before cleansing. It has a nice smooth feel when applying to the skin, and skin is soft after cleansing. Despite the claims that it will not leave skin tight feeling like other cleansers, I felt slightly aware of it being tighter. This just might be because I use other cleansers and my skin is not used to it. While I don't like the weirder feeling, its tolerable, and nothing a hefty dollop of post cleansed skin moisturizer will not remedy. I don't mind using this cleanser to switch it up from time to time, and add a different zingy scent to the mix. Its not a must for me though, and I'm not sure I would repurchase, if it comes in a bigger size, or is sold separately from the sampler kit in which I encountered it. I love Burt's more and more with each product I try and love how each product lists the ingredients so proudly- there's nothing to hide. Their eco and animal friendly message is something I try to stick with when it comes to beauty and skincare (although I'm not a saint). I haven't used it enough to notice any skin changes but I might experiment more with that. I wouldn't rely on it to clean off makeup, but I'm sure it would do a great job cleaning up any missed spots after I took my makeup off and cleansed with it- many oils are great for breaking down tough makeup.

I love that this is a natural product for a reasonable price point! It smells amazing! It cleans well without stripping my skin of its moisture. I would not recommend to use this to remove your makeup. It is almost too gentle to do so. My skin feels clean and refreshed and very soft after use. A little goes a long way!

it was an okay cleanser. the smell was awesome and it did make my skin feel refreshed, but i don't think my skin really cleared up or anything, just felt good.

I absolutely adore this cleanser. It smells like fresh squeezed orange juice. It makes your face feel so clean and soothed. It also has a slight warming that is very cozy. I accedenelly got some in my mouth one time, and it even tastes good. Though I wouldn't reccomend eating it lol.

I used to love this facial cleanser. It is cheap for being 100% natural. It brightens up my skin, fades old and new acne scars, cleans without stripping or dry the skin up afterwards(which might made some users felt that it does not clean properly) and it smells just like oranges. It stated on the tube itself that it is a makeup remover but it's not strong enough to remove makeup so I use a separate cleanser for my makeup. While I do love what it does for my skin, I have to rate it an average 3 cause it did not help with my blackheads. In the long run, this cleanser clogged up my pores around my nose which made my blackheads worse. Even with my Clarisonic, it just didn't help. I'm thinking it might be the high quantity of glycerin in it so this might be better if you don't have a blackheads problem or just use this wash once or twice a week.
