Didn't meet my expectations
It glided on, yes. The coverage was okay but the finish... It was just a bit too dewy. I'll use up my sample but there are a lot better products out there for the price point.
First real red
My favorite Sephora employee showed me this lippy back in December. I really do like it though! It works for my complexion and wasn't too intense for someone who wears pinks all of the time.
Everything you need in a box
I splurged on this kit not too long ago. I figured it was worth a shot; I love it. My only complaint is that I can count on my fingers the amount of times I dipped into the highlighting shade.
Easy to apply, makes me cry.
I have an insane case of the jitters in the morning because I'll have went so long for coffee. I prefer felt-tipped liners as they are so much easier to control. I loved the effect of this liner, but after an hour or so it would just flake off of my eye and into it so I was constantly teary and red-eyed. It wasn't worth it as I've found similar liners from the drugstore that didn't end up hurting me.
Reviewing on the part of my mother.
My mother is a 56-year-old dialysis patient. The dialysis has made her skin quite a bit darker than it's normal fair state and also more dull. This kit is an easy way for a makeup beginner to highlight their skin, conceal any imperfections, and give them a glow. Her only grudge against it is the price, therefore she only uses it for "special ocassions."
Perfect for night time looks
I'm planning on picking up some more shadows for some more matte, smokey looks but this is definitely a good choice for anything night time. There are three coordinated shades (which look like the little quads you would buy individually) in order to create specific look, although you can definitely mix and match. It comes with a shimmery brown, neutral look, a more mauve/berry look, and a smokey eye which strikes me as being cooler tones, a full size eyeliner, a mini TFSI, and some cards in order to create six different looks (one for day, one for night for each of the there color families). It would be great for beginners as it explains how to get the desired effect.
If you can get your hands on this...
I ended up buying this palette as a reward for getting 100 on an exam. I wasn't planning on buying it when I saw the promo pictures, but after already having the BOS IV, I figured it was worth giving Too Faced's large holiday palette a shot. It's beautiful. I have it on display in my room, actually. The packaging is very whimisical and girly. I really like it. The eyeshadows are pigmented and smooth, the blushes and highlighter are good, and it showed me that I'm absolutely in love with the Chocolate Soleil bronzer. It also comes with a full size TFSI. It's an excellent value and you won't come short of looks.
Yay for SPF and mattifying!
I don't use this as a foundation, I use it more as a setting powder. I like how natural this looks when used with a large fluffy brush and how it just makes me look perfectly matte and totally real. I have combination skin and you would never guess that I get oily when I sweep this over my skin. It looks flawless with such a light dusting. I go over my undereye circles lightly as well (I need Powderflage or the Laura Mercier one) and it does a fine job of evening my skintone there to match the rest of my face.
