About Me

Hey guys! I wanted to start this off by telling you about myself. First off, my name is Natalie Linaweaver. I am a makeup artist and hair stylist in Pittsburgh. I work at Regis and do freelance makeup on the side. I got my cosmetologist license at Empire Beauty School. I am " self taught" in makeup. I cant take all the credit though. I was raised by my mother who is an artist and a costumer/seamstress. Growing up, her and my Grandmother worked at the costume shop in our little town.Having raised me on her own, I spent a lot of time there. I was always fascinated when I saw people being turned into monsters and beautiful princesses.

Growing up there I was aloud to be as creative and weird as I liked. I always knew the basics of special fx and fantasy makeup, just from watching.

As I got older I started preparing for art school and becoming more interested in punk. My friends could be described affectionately as punk/androgynous/club kids. They were some of the most beautiful men/women I had ever seen. When I started learning how to take a mans face and make it look feminine, thats when I knew that I was in love.

I moved to Pittsburgh when I was 18 to go to art school. It had been my dream since I was a little girl. Every drawing class, all the art history, my mother training me from the time I could hold a pencil all came down to this. I couldn't wait to study the founders of my craft and finally be around other serious artists....then I got there and realized it was nothing like I had imagined and was a wast of time.

Moving to Pittsburgh was the best decision I ever made, because it brought me to my husband. He also did special fx on the side and helped my fine tune everything. Now instead of date nights we sit around with makeup and test out making each other into monsters.

Now after all of that I am now a freelance makeup artist and I specialize in fantasy, special fx and high fashion. I am also embarking on a new area of makeup, bridal. To most people, that's were they start. I'm the opposite, I now have to tone down everything I know and do flawless, pretty makeup. I'm so scared and excited!
