A little tricky to get the product out but works well.
I have one of BE's refillable compact that I keep at my office and I needed something else to toss in my purse and didn't necessarily need a mirror too. I purchased this and am pleased with it. It's easy to refill but can be messy (have to make sure to tap it several times before unscrewing the bottom off to refill) and compact enough that I can toss it in my small crossbody purse when I go shopping. To get the product to come through the brush head you have to make sure that it is turned to "open" and you have to tap the brush head several times (I just tap it a few times on the back of my hand). It would be nice if more product came through the brush, but it does do what I need it to do.
Lightweight, buildable coverage
I've been using BE for almost 7 years and have dealt with the "itchies" that the original formula gave me when I went out into the sun. I was elated when the matte formula came out. For me, there was no change in shade color...I wore Golden Medium in the original formula and can wear the same shade in the matte formula. It does not keep my shiny t-zone matte all day, in fact, if I don't use a oil control primer first (my favorite product to use on my t-zone is simple Milk of Magnesia) I'm forced to continue to touch up with BE mineral veil throughout the day. However; I love how lightweight this foundation is and I'm able to build the amount of coverage I need without feeling like I'm wearing a mask of foundation. I'll continue to purchase and use this formula, not for the "matte" quality but because without the bismuth in this formula I never have any issue with itchy skin.
Almost perfect
I have dark circles under my eyes and it doesn't matter if I've slept for 3 hours or 3 days....the circles are always there. If I use this on it's own to conceal my dark circles, I end up with too much brightness under my eyes...perhaps if I were a tad lighter it would work great. So what I do now is just mix a little of the Well Rested with a little of Bare Escentuals eye shadow in Butterfly (a yellow color) and use a fluffy contour eye brush to blend it over a primer...this combats the blue undertones of the dark circles without looking too light. I also use Well Rested as a base for my lips when I want a lip color to be truer to the intended shade.
Highly comparable to MAC liquidlast!
This is one serious eyeliner. When I first saw them at Target I swiped each color on the back of my hand. Then I went home and swiped the MAC liquidlast eyeliners I had (the teal one is almost exactly the same in both brands). I washed my hands several times, took a shower and by the next day they had barely faded. I've worn contact lenses for a very long time so I don't rub my eyes during the day, but my daughter wears the JK liner in black (her "signature" look is always a retro winged liner) and she often rubs her eyes. Her liner stays put. I can't speak for how it performs in the waterline because I rarely line my waterline. I really like this liner and encourage anyone who likes liquid liners to use it. The consistency is thick (but so is the MAC one) and if you have a hard time using the long bristles on the brush, you can easily use a short bristled eyeliner brush (I have an artist pointer brush that I bent to create an angled brush). Great liner at a great price.
Best cleansing tool ever!
My mother and a friend of mine both have a Clarisonic Mia and have been raving about it so much that I finally took the plunge and purchased one. I'm not faithful to any one cleanser (except every morning I cleanse with my Philosophy Micro-delivery Exfoliating Wash) and use the Clarisonic Mia every night. I remove my eye makeup with a makeup remover but use a cleanser with my Mia to remove the rest of my makeup. ALL of my makeup comes off using this tool with my cleanser. My Mia came with three sample tubes of their cleansers, I've used the blue one (for oily, acne skin) and the white one (for sensitive skin) and am not in love with either one (will try the orange one for dry skin the in the winter) although I like the white one more than the blue one. I switch my cleansers, sometimes using my Philosophy Purity Made Simple or my Biore Ice Cleanser (even mixing both on the brush head). My skin always feels smooth and clean after using my Mia. I love this tool so much I'm purchasing the regular sized one so I can use the body brush. If you can afford a purchase like this I'd suggest getting it through QVC when they have it on Easy-Pay...it makes the purchase more affordable and they have an awesome return policy if you end up not liking it.
Works as a "primer" too.
I tend to over pack my cosmetics when I'm going on a trip, so I purchased this not long ago to take on a weekend getaway. The entire weekend I used this as my "foundation" with a little concealer under my eyes and around my nose and finished it with a tinted finishing powder. After filling in my brows, curling my lashes and adding some blush, I was ready in less than 10 minutes (which I'm sure my husband appreciated). This product did NOT fill in all of my pores but it did help a little bit and this product does not do anything to control oil, but it does not claim too either so I didn't expect that. But this product does leave my skin smooth and when I wear it as a "primer" under my mineral foundation, I'm able to use less foundation. (typically I buff on two to three layers of my loose mineral foundation to get the coverage I want). What initially was going to go in my "weekend away" travel bag has become part of my every day makeup routine. The instructions say that you have to wait 2 minutes before applying foundation (if you're using foundation), and I do suggest that you follow that rule. If you slap it on and then immediately move on to foundation, the foundation can bead up. I will continue to use and purchase this product.
Awesome daily "mini peel".
This product I LOVE and use daily. This is my every morning cleanser. It does not irritate my skin and leaves it super smooth. I have some other Philosophy products that I'm not sure if I'd continue to purchase but this product I will absolutely continue to purchase and use.
Gently moisturizes and absorbs super fast.
I have combo skin that goes normal/dry in the winter (our winters don't last long here). I use this at night only, and only on the nights that I cleanse with my Biore Ice Cleanser (because using that cleanser with my Clarisonic leaves my skin feeling a little tight). I love the texture of this product. It's lightweight and feels sort of cushiony. Almost like I'm squishing water onto my skin. A lot of people have made note of the scent, it is a little strange - sort of like a plastic bag, but it is not lingering, so I can deal with that. The only reason I can't give this product a full five stars is because something in it really burns my eyes when I apply it (and I do not apply it under my eyes). Overall, this is a great moisturizer for anyone who doesn't have extremely dry skin.
Gently cleanses
I've been using this cleanser for about two months. Do I LOVE it? No. But it is a decent cleanser. It removes all of my makeup with the exception of any MAC liquidline liners or my JK liquid liners (but it does remove most of it). This leaves my skin feeling clean and not tight or dry. The claim that it's gentle to the eyes, did not ring true for me. It stings my eyes every time I use it. Overall, I do like this cleanser but I like it more when I'm using it with my Clarisonic.
