Beauty Product Reviews
Would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the liner and brow brushes.
I bought this set solely for the Deluxe Crease Brush and little detailer brush. The Deluxe Crease Brush is the BEST brush I've used to apply my under eye concealer. I could do without the liner and brow brushes. The liner brush is not thin enough to create a precise or sharp line and the brow brush is just too thick for me. I've used it to apply a light wash of a lighter brow powder when I'm done filling in my brows but aside from that, I've yet to find a use for this brush. Overall...I'd purchase this set again because the other three brushes are outstanding.
Using it for contouring...
I use a powder foundation so I've decided to use this brush to apply my contour powder in the hollows of my cheeks and down the sides of my nose and LOVE how this brush performs. It's narrow enough where I can "chisel" my cheekbones and the brush head itself washes well and maintains it's shape. I've replaced several of my brushes with Real Techniques.
This was made for me!
No matter what mascara I use, I always swipe the wand on a tissue to remove most of the product from the wand. This always allows me to build up the intensity I want on my lashes without getting heavy and clumpy. Cover Girl Lash Blast Lengthening Mascara has eliminated that step. It's a drier formula and the brush head comes out of the tube with no heavy product. The brush head is thin which lets me get ALL of my lashes covered (like Maybelline's Lash Discovery brush but amped up with more bristles). Because it's a drier formula, I apply 3-4 coats for outrageous length without the weight or clumps. This one is a keeper for me!
Back to BE
I've use BE foundation for years until I got tired of the mess. Not only did I have to wipe down my vanity counter after every makeup application, traveling with BE foundation was troublesome too (even after they started using the twist and lock sifter). Once BE and Shiseido "joined forces" and the Ready Mineral Veil was released, I knew it was a matter of time before the Ready Foundation would make its appearance. Although I've been using Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten and MAC's Studio Fix foundation (and love them both) I recently purchased the BE Ready Foundation and am back in love with BE foundations. It has buildable coverage just like the loose powder and comes in a slim compact. I can't say that I'll ONLY use BE foundations...but I can say that the Ready Foundation will be a part of my cosmetic arsenal for now on.
Inexpensive and dries quickly
I usually use Seche Vite fast dry top coat but picked this one up last week on a trip to Target. It dries in less than a minute; however, you really should wait the full 2 minutes after you apply your polish before using this. What I like most is that there was no polish "shrinkage" once it dried, like I get with Seche Vite. (have you ever noticed that the tips of your polish seem to disappear after using Seche Vite? it's that super duper fast dry process that shrinks the polish). I think I will repurchase this in the near future.
Velvety smooth
I've been using this product for two months and have seen a very TINY change in my fine lines under my eyes; however, I love how it hydrates my under eye area without feeling greasy. A tiny bit seems to fill in the lines and allows my concealer to glide on more smoothly. I don't have any lines around my mouth, but I have been applying this nightly to the upper lip area as a step in prevention. I'm considering trying a different eye cream at night in the near future, but I will continue to use this during the day. The formula is just so perfect under concealer.
Outstanding coverage
My daughter have this to me because she broke out from it and I needed a darker foundation after spending a few days out at the pool. I've had no adverse reaction to this foundation at all. I can build coverage from sheer to full depending on how many layers I buff on. I have oily skin and the shine does break through, but I use a separate matte powder for touch ups during the day. Right now I'm in-between "shades" so I grab my brush, swirl it in this product then in my Laura Geller foundation and I end up with a perfect finish every time. Will repurchase this.
24 hour? No...should be more like 48 hours.
I'm not a fan of waterproof mascaras (I'm not even a fan of the Lash Blast mascaras either) but I need to be fair in my rating as I bought this mascara just to see how it worked. If you fancy a waterproof mascara...then this one is worth trying. The brush head is the stiff rubbery type (not my favorite, but it really works to separate lashes). I applied three coats (but before each coat I swipe off excess product from the brush) and got flake proof, smudge proof, pool side proof lashes all day. Downside...this stuff is so hard to remove. Even using makeup remover, I still had residue on my lashes through to the next day. Personally, I do not see myself buying this again; however, if you like waterproof mascara, I think you will be pleased with the way this performs.
Nice brush!
I'm a sucker for a pretty package and this one got my attention just cause of the color of the tube. The brush head is full and sort of stiff so it works well to separate my lashes as I'm applying the product. The bendy wand...still don't understand that but as I'm layering the product on my lashes it bends and applies in a way that does not pull any lashes out. The formula is on the wetter side (wasn't surprised by that at all) so if I want a defined curl I make sure to heat my lash curler first. Three coats of this mascara and my lashes are not hard and spiky. If I want added volume I just use Lash Discovery as my "base coat" then a couple layers of this one. And best of all...easily washes off at the end of the day. I'll more than likely repurchase this product.
Plumps?...not so much.
I've been using this product and although I cannot agree with the "plump" claim of it. I can say that it does create a wonderful nude base on my lips which makes my lipstick stay truer to its color. When I wear lipstick I do not have a habit of pressing my lips together or licking my lips, so I cannot say if this has prolonged the wear of a lipstick, but I will probably purchase this again because I do like how it performs as a base/primer.
