Phenomenal palettes
I had to search high and low for these $4.99 per palette gems. Thankfully, I have all four (Greed, Pride, Lust, and Vanity). They are incredibly pigmented and buttery. The price is phenomenal. I even like the packaging. They may not be pretty but they make up for it in being sleek, once one rubs off all of the extra tape. The clear top makes it easy to find the right color palette. I doubt they will open in my handbag. But what I truly love about these palettes is the fact there is an equal number of shimmer and matte shades per palette. I can perform a complete look with a single palette without my eye turning into a complete disco ball. Too bad these were limited edition. They really need to do more like these.
A home run palette on eyeshadow color & quality
I finally succumbed and purchased this product. After my first use, I can clearly understand what all of the hype was about. The shadows are incredibly buttery, but lean to the warm side of the spectrum. There are only two matte shades. However, one can pull off nearly endless eye looks with the palette. It’s a fantastic price when you think about the cost of each eyeshadow separately.
The packaging is incredibly light, sturdy, and sleek. In time, I wonder if the lettering will wear off as well as getting the outside dirty. For now, that isn’t a problem. The mirror could be larger. Still, I can see both eyes so it gets the job done. The brush is a nice touch but I generally use the space to pack an eyeliner for travel.
One great compact.
This little wonder is only a dollar. The mirror is a nice size for travel. The wells hold 4 e.l.f. elements eye shadows within a white, hard plastic exterior. The great part is that these shadows are the same size as MAC shadows. There is also room for a double sided sponge applicator. If you pry out the bottom part and use some double sided tape underneath the metal, you can freestyle the palette. This way, 5 eye shadows, one blush and one shadow, or one powder can fit inside. I think I have about 5 of these. I see no reason in purchasing the refillable 4 pan compacts that MAC sell.
MAC dupe alert!
I’m a sucker for neutrals. The first time I heard about this palette, I had to have it. It’s a smaller hard-plastic case than the 88 palettes so I can differentiate between this and the others. Still I wish Crown Brush would label the palette as other brands have done. Inside, there is no mirror. Normally, I would frown up on it but the room inside the lid gave me a space to write the dupes for MAC…and there are many dupes! Dupes for Typographic, Beauty Marked, Malt are just a few within this palette. This is indeed helpful because pots of these shadows are the same size as MAC shadows. I won’t run out of the product anytime in the near future. The colors run both warm and cool and there are a variety of finishes. I think I like this palette more than my 88 Warm as I don’t feel as overwhelmed by the variety.
A rainbow of reasonably priced color.
I purchased this palette for the purpose of dabbling in color. For that purpose, it was a success. Housed in one hard plastic case, I was able to enjoy a rainbow of colors and hues. The majority of these shadows are matte but there are a few with a satin finish. The neutral shades boast more of the shimmery finishes. Like the Warm Palette, the shades are dime-sized. Though most are highly pigmented, there are a few shades that aren’t. There is also a bit of chalkiness associated with a few of the shades.
All in all, it’s still one solid palette where I know I can enjoy a variety of colors without breaking my budget and saving space in my makeup area. I also appreciate that Coastal Scents labeled this palette so it’s easy for me to tell the difference between this and my Warm Palette without opening the case.
An everyday palette for everyone
This was my first major palette that got me hooked onto makeup. The product is encased with hard plastic that protects product when travelling. The mirror will reveal the whole face, which is also fantastic for travel. Inside, the 88 dime-sized shadows offer a variety of finishes. The warm palette is a bit of a misnomer as there is a fair quantity of cool shades mixed in. Though they are highly pigmented, take care because the colors can muddy if over blended. Regardless of this minor point, the palette will work with the most fair to the deepest of tones. Likewise, people who are cool and warm toned skin will enjoy the palette. The palette will work well for travel, college, office, evening events, and some bridal work.
The frustrating part of the palette is falling in love with particular shades as there is a small amount per each color. Many of these shades are dupable from Coastal Scents as well as other companies. Though this palette can be purchased from several companies, I prefer the Coastal Scents version as they label the palette; something that is wonderful when you have a variety of these.
An affordable, working alternative to pricier primers
It works on my oily skin. Coupled with my Revlon ColorStay, I gave up the need of blotting in the afternoon. The application gives just the right amount of slip for me to use a very little bit of product. My makeup truly lasts all day with this primer. The packaging is fantastic. I can control the amount of primer as well as get every last drop. The 1.6 oz is incredibly generous considering the price. I also appreciate listing the ingredients on the packaging. Hard Candy also does not test on animals. I do have some trouble in finding the clear formulation at stores. On the white packaging, I do not see writing alluding to SPF 15. I’m not sure of the pink or purple bottled primers.
Great for less pigmented lips
I decided to give this tinted lip balm a go after trying the Rejuvenating Lip Balm. I respect what the brand stands for and went in search of the darkest color I could find at the store. As soon as I reached the car, I opened the packaging and tried Hibiscus. I must admit, I saw absolutely no color but I have a lot of pigmentation on my lips. For people with less pigmented lips, this is going to be a fantastic product.
An environmental alternative to moisturize your lips.
There’s a lot to like about the Burt’s Bees brand. They don’t test on animals, use natural ingredients, and part of its packaging comes from recycled material. This lip balm in particular contains several ingredients beneficial to the lips. I love that they also take the time to print out the actual ingredients on the packaging. More companies need to do the same. The smell is pleasant but not overpowering. The question for me is, does this product hydrate my lips any better than other products. Unfortunately, I find myself reapplying often. I love what the company stands for and I’m willing to spend a slightly elevated price just for that. I also realize that the actual functioning of the product isn’t that much better than other brands.
Good but not great primer
This was my first primer. I reveled in having my foundation last all day. Before this, my foundation would slide off of my face by from living in the southern sun. As time passed, I tried other products. I realized how many other elements this one lacked. Though my foundation remained, I still looked like an oil slick by the afternoon. There was no SPF. It was pricy. Last, there was no way to utilize the last bit of product due to the packaging. In the end, I moved on to other primers. I still think it’s a good product, there are simply other options better for me.
