Great value!

It’s an amazing eyelash curler for the price. Sure, with daily use, I’ve gone through one in a year. I don’t expect forever when it comes to a dollar purchase. When compared to my Shu Uemura, I do enjoy that it opens wider, so I can more easily move my eyelashes in place. I also appreciate the finger rest for added stability. I do see how the roundness of this eyelash curler may not be best for some but I shall always have a couple in my stash. Pick a couple up if you want a curler that won’t break the bank for travel, gym bag, etc.

I'll buy it again

I absolutely loved this palette! There are blushes that are warm and cool, lean pink and orange, and a variety of finishes. They are all incredibly pigmented and with enough product in each pan that one won’t go through any one blush in a short amount of time. Nearly everyone can benefit from this palette. There is a hard plastic case with an ok closure. I’ve taken this blush palette travelling and have yet to have it open or the contents break on me. I wish it would have a mirror, but it would add to the weight and probably cost more. I appreciate that Coastal Scents labeled this palette so it’s easy for me to tell the difference between this and other palettes without opening the case.

Great quality

I truly get why people rave about this concealer. It treads the delicate line of offering coverage without going cakey. I also appreciate Eve Pearl’s attitude of using non-airbrushed pictures to show images of the before and after using this product. That truly helps when purchasing online. Last, I appreciate she has a variety of packaging for her concealers. One can purchase the concealer by itself, as a duo, trio, and 2 types of concealer palettes. By doing that, the company is thinking of the regular consumer and the MUA.

Great for cheeks but too much work for eyes & lips

I figured this, mascara, and a powder would be all I would need in my handbag. The cream to powder product can be used on eyes lips, and cheeks. On my lips, I feel it a bit dryer than usual. I also need a primer and a gloss for the right effect. Moreover, I need a primer when I use this on my lids to keep it there. It’s fantastic for my cheek area. Looking back on my largely unused purchase, I realize that it’s a luxury product that can compliment one’s beauty arsenal; not be the foundation to it.

Using a base is a must with these shadows

I purchased this on a Maybelline BOGO. I didn’t expect much. My first attempt with this eyeshadow duo was with primer. Within 3 hours, the eyeshadow had noticeably faded. The next time I tried the eyeshadows, I used a white base. It did not fade as much as my first attempt. I would also strongly advise bringing the duo and a brush with you for touch ups.

The feel of the darker shade is considerably more buttery. I could easily deposit color on my lid without much fallout. The two shades also blended well. I’m not a fan of the packaging. Though the lid closes tightly, the hinge squeaks rather loudly. I also take issue with the layout of the shadows. The current Expert Wear line has a larger pan for the lighter shade. My favorite is the darker, more buttery shade. I wish each of the pans had the same amount.

Good shadows but just ok on lip products

The packaging is hard plastic and chocolate brown in color. The mirror is a bit awkward spanning the top half of the rectangular cover. It’s a waste, really. I would have preferred either a full mirrored top or a square mirror in the middle third. That way, I could use it. The way it is, I can only see my eyes. Below, the colors are arranged with the lip colors in a separate drawer. The drawer is a wonderful touch because it keeps them clean. There is also room for a small lip pencil and sponge tip applicator. I wish the small plastic separator for these implements were removed. That way, a person could have used the area for a brush or eyeliner. The price is also incredibly reasonable considering all that you get. I wish NYX had named it something else because there are other “nude on nude palettes” from the brand.

The actual shadows are above par and highly pigmented I wish the black was a bit darker. The white is truly a matte white but I believe more people will employ a severely matte black than a matte white. The shadows are both warm and cool with a variety of finishes. There is something for everyone in the eyeshadow part of the palette.

Unfortunately, the weakest link of the palette is the lipsticks. The pigmentation is lacking for what I would need. A person with less pigmented lips could probably fall in love with them.

Hit & miss but only a dollar

I’m a bit on the fence with this quad. It’s only a dollar and incredibly small. I can pack this in the smallest pocket or handbag. The clasp is solid. I doubt that it will come open without some effort. I enjoy the clear top so I can easily see the colors. Though small, I can see one eye or lip in the mirror tucked away where the sponge applicator is stored. The label is also incredibly small. It would be difficult to read the label in order to repurchase.

The shadows themselves are both a hit and a miss. Though all of the shadows feel velvety, the darker shades are fantastic. They are incredibly pigmented. There is a great dupe for Satin Taupe which is truly worth a dollar for that shadow alone. The great disappointment came from the lighter shadows. Though the feeling of the lighter shadows was as velvety as the darker shadows, the effect of the lighter ones was patchy. After a while, I gave up using them and grabbed other shadows for my highlighters. Thus, the compact palette for a single look was nearly impossible for me to achieve.

Great pigmentation but limited in finish

I’m a fan of wnw pressed eyeshadows so I had to get these palettes. Most of the shadows in the palette are incredibly pigmented. There are a couple eyeshadows, however, that aren’t as pigmented but still work incredibly well. I love the clear plastic top so it’s incredibly easy to see the colors, There are suggestions for placement on the back as well as placement suggestions stamped onto the shadows. There is little variety in finish within each of the palettes: Blue Had Me At Hello, Comfort Zone, and Petal Pusher. Thus, I’m forced to pull out other eyeshadows to complete an eye look. Towards the end of the year, there was the release of the limited edition I heart Matte palette.

If I had to choose between the 6 and 8 pan palettes, I’d gravitate towards the 6 because I don’t need to grab other shadows to complete an eye look like I need to with the 8. Still, these are fantastic shadows when you consider the $4.99 per palette price tag.

Highly pigmented and incredibly affordable

I have yet to find a drugstore eyeshadow with the level of pigmentation as these beauties. Then there is the cost. Singles are $1.99 each for 0.06 oz. When you compare that to MAC that are $15 ($11.50 for pro pan) each for 0.05 oz, it’s an incredible bargain. Amazingly, they do go on sale from time to time. Nutty is a fantastic dupe for Satin Taupe while Envy is a dead ringer for Humid. They are a bit on the softer side and the packaging is less than desirable but the quality shines through.

Sleek packaging, velvety texture, but poor pigmentation

I really wanted to like this palette as I’ve had great success with other ColorStay products. The eyeshadows had a velvety texture. There was little fallout either on my face, or when I dipped my brush into the product. I also appreciate there is a range of matte and satin shades. Unfortunately, the pigmentation was less than I had hoped. I really had to pack on the product to get much color payoff. I’m willing to concede the fact that this palette is very similar in color to my skin. It’s possible that an individual with a fairer complexion, with a heavier hand, will do well with this one. Still, one will tend to go through this palette fairly quickly.

The packaging is incredibly sleek. I can see not only the colors but the finishes from the window. The hard plastic feels solid in my hand. The clasp is firm. I have little fear of the palette opening up in my handbag. I question the layout of the shadows. The highlight shade contains the largest amount followed by the two medium shades for lid colors. The smallest amount is the darkest shade. For most people, the two medium colors will be used the most followed by the darkest shade. It would be most useful if one of those contained larger amounts and less for the highlighted shade.
