Beauty Product Reviews
Not a Must-Have
I love that this product is versatile and wonderfully easy to apply. However, I don't like the shade as much as I would like to. While Moonbeam and Highbeam work well on cooler and rosier skin tones, likewise Sunbeam WOULD be expected to look good on warmer, bronzed tones--it doesn't necessarily work on everyone. Because it is highly pigmented, I find that if you want a subtle glow, you have to be very light-handed in how much you apply, and, furthermore, if you apply too much, you have to blend it out with foundation. Benefit can be overpriced for what they are, but I will give them credit for creating a golden-hued highlight--I haven't found a dupe yet!
I purchased a couple neutral shadows to start out with and quickly regretted not purchasing more! The matte shadows have more pigmentation and color payoff than Mac's matte shadows, and what's more is that for only $5.99 each, you save a lot of money! I have these in my own makeup kit and have favored using some of these shadows instead of the high end ones.
Not impressed.
I really wanted to like this product for so many reasons...So far I really like their brow gel and other products for brows, but for whatever reason, the formula in my mascara was really sticky, clumpy, and dry. I'm not sure that it's supposed to be that way...more on the waxy side than anything. I realize that there is caranuba wax, which is used for waterproof mascaras and structure, but it was really heavy on my lashes after a while, weighing them down. I did have a sample mascara that I got in the duo pack with the brow gel. I wouldn't say that it necessarily "lifts" my lashes, but more or less adds thickness and fullness, which isn't my issue. I really wanted the lift and length effect...
I needed an inexpensive primer to hold me over until I could get my hands on another UDPP, but in the midst of using this, I noticed no real difference in quality. It lasts most the day. I can even use it under cream bases and it lasts for a good amount of time. My eyelids tend to be really dry so this primer doesn't dry them out, but instead makes them feel moisturized. The only thing I can say that I don't like is the scent, but even the UDPP doesn't have a good smell. =)
Didn't think I would, but I really like it!
This was given to me by a friend who didn't like it. I wasn't sure if I would. It's kind of strong and I normally don't wear a lot of floral scents. However, I decided to wear it one day to church and I got so many compliments. I guess it really works well with my body chemistry. =)
