Beauty Product Reviews
Great but...
I love this set. I think its fantastic but it is really not for beginners. This is makeup for a specific use and not meant for every day use. I use this specific set for theater application and it is great for such. Some things you are going to need to know if you buy this for either theatrical makeup or costume. 1: The kits are based on the base color. I use the Fair: Light/Medium which will give you about 3 bases to choose from all of which will probably not match you perfectly. I use the lightest base but need to mix it with a soft pink or it will otherwise wash me out. 2. The brushes are terrible! The stiff liner brushes are great for doing old age and specific designs you may need to do but for eye application or powder application you are better off buying brushes you like rather than using the ones in the kit. 3. The translucent powder isn't totally translucent. If you are doing just beauty makeup or something with a natural skin tone it works just fine, but I have found with some looks I have done where I have had to paint my face completely white after applying the powder it added a peach tone to the makeup. Easy to get around but you do need to know that to plan accordingly.
As far as the powder puff in the kit that it all preference and what exactly you are doing. In most applications I prefer using a large powder brush (that I purchased myself) rather than the powder puff but there have been times where I needed the puff to keep the effect I created. WARNING FOR BEGINNERS: If you have never used spirit gum before please use sparingly and when removing saturate the area with the spirit gum remover. Attempting to take off spirit gum with out the remover is EXTREMELY PAINFUL and can remove some skin depending on how much you have used.
But all this being said this is a great theatrical kit and I will never use anything but Ben Nye Cream Kits for all my theatrical and costume uses. This is an easy kit to experiment with but know your base color. Any other question feel free to ask! Most of my looks on my page are done with a Ben Nye Cream kit. Good Luck! :D <3
Is it right for you?
With most acne treatments you will find out pretty quick if its right for you or not and Proactive is no exception. Proactive has to be one of the strongest non-prescription acne treatments I have ever used. That being said, because of that you will know really fast when you have done something wrong. In my experience with acne medications if I over use it my face will dry out very quickly around my jaw line, it will start to itch and get bumpy. In that case you need to give your skin a rest from the product, especially with the renewing cleanser (because of the exfoliating beads in it). If this happens to you, during this rest period you need to stop and evaluate what you know about your own skin. In my case I decided to retry but to change my routine, I went from using it twice a day to just once, in a smaller amount and not scrubbing as vigorously. After the change I have had nothing but positive results with this product, Down side however, you must follow the the step process. If you miss one step your face may start to dry out and thus just causing your face to produce more oil. The key with this product is to be consistent with it and to listen to your body and your skin! Good luck! :D <3
