Beauty Product Reviews
Lasting power and fantastic if colour matched.
I have never had much luck with liquid foundation, often they are too oily and don't have any staying power on my combination skin + sweating condition.
I was colour matched by a consultant and given a sample pot to try before purchase. I really wasn't expecting much but I've used it for three days now and I can say it's not bad.
You don't need a large amount for decent coverage and my skin tone definitely looked even after application. I like to finish with a dusting of mineral powder to set it because I could never trust liquids but I probably wouldn't need to. It definitely has lasting power and I try harder to cleanse my face at the end of the day.
I have excessive sweating on my face. With this I find I have to blot with tissue for a little while but my skin eventually settles down and the colour stays. I am quite happy with the results of this but of course there's a higher price tag.
I have trouble finding shades that suit me or that I like. All Done Up is a nice plum that goes with my olive skin, giving me some colour without going over the top. The staying power is ever so slightly above average. Pigmentation is great.
I like it. It's a nice finish and I like how subtle it is over my mineral foundation. I don't use the brush included in the compact unless I don't have my own brushes handy. The mirror might have been a selling point but I find I don't use it, I always have an alternative compact mirror or large mirror handy
This is the third eyeliner pen I've used and to be perfectly honest, I felt it was nothing special. It's a bit watery so I have to make sure it's completely dry before I close my monolid eyes otherwise it smudges. That's not to say that it doesn't work, it's just I paid more for this than my previous pens and probably would have been happy sticking with the more cost effective options.
It definitely has staying power and does have high pigment so a very clear line.
Good mid-range option
I bought this in beige 1 and their primer compact at the same time. The powder is fantastic for staying on, I blow my nose often and with other brands it always rubs off in that area (some credit probably goes to the primer too). I also sweat sometimes and this one has managed to stay on 'mostly' in comparison to others.
Considering I paid a lot more for previous powders, this one wasn't too bad. Mid-range and worth its price.
Refreshing and calms my skin
Personally I like the smell and find it therapeutic, though it may be too strong for other people. The mask is tingly once you've applied it and I like to leave it on for slightly longer than 10 minutes before I use a warm washcloth to wipe it off. I find it makes a difference from just washing it off your face with water, the steam from the washcloth helps to open up the pores too and I feel really refreshed afterwards.
The cost is slightly high for what I would normally budget for a mask but you have to spend money for the products you like.
The packaging is clean, simple. Nothing special.
I would buy this again but I think the Origins brand has pulled out of the Pacific region. There's still plenty in circulation though and I would buy it online, hopefully at a bargain price.
Did make my lips softer
I picked this up in Anti-oxidant Berry on a whim at a supermarket checkout. I didn't think much of the packaging, the bright colours makes it look cheap but I'm always on the lookout for good lip balm. I've tried so many so I decided to give it a go.
This is brilliant, I'm so glad I tried it. After a week of using it there is a DEFINITE difference. My lips are super soft as if I've been exfoliating them. I quite like the smell of the berry too.
One thing is the texture of the balm can get a bit mushy towards the end.
