Loving it as a highlight!
I guess they want you to dust this all over your face, which I suppose you could do but I have been using this as a cheek color/ high light and it has been working out lovely. I have a deluxe sample size that I got from the Glitz and Glam Sephora box. If the sample packaging is like the sample, it will drive me insane. The lid always looks slightly ajar to me. I suppose that doesn't matter too much but I'm just sayin'!
It is a very smooth application and very very blendable. I can see it starting to get too powdery if you use too much of it, but this isn't a product you are meant to pack on your face. I may repurchase but I have to say I am quite interested in Candlelight by Too Faced. However this color works beautifully for me since I can use it a a flush of color on my cheeks with a little heavier application OR a highlight because it sheers out quite nicely.
Yes.
I do love this. I think this can make any look dramatic , but it is so simple. I haven't had it for long, in fact I just finally found a bottle, so I cannot speak for longevity of the product. I just read though that putting polish in your refrigerator can extend the life of it? I am not sure if that applies to this formula though. Anyone know?
Why do I keep buying these?!
Ok, so I have a pretty decent amount of these pencils. Every time it is on Hautelook I cannot help but buy one. I already know the quality so I am not sure why I keep going down this road. I am used to softer eye pencils, these are more of your standard make up pencil. Not that soft but not a No.2 either.
I own Mowie Wowie, Purple Haze and Mary Jane. The colors themselves are pigmented enough, it isn't too bold but the colors are pretty true. I don't really smoke out my eyeliner which is probably also why I am pretty flabbergasted as to why I keep buying these. I did notice they get better when your sharpen them. I can chalk this up to them being older and being sold on Hautelook for a reason, but I rather think that is not the case. The little smudger at the ends of each pencil are your run of the mill smudger, nothing too fancy. I prefer to use them on my brows more than anything and mowie wowie sort of even works for me as a brow liner, I just have to set it with a bit darker powder but it works well on its own when my hair is lighter.
These are not bad pencils, but they are not anything for me to rave about either... If you like this type of liner, buy on sale.. or just go to the drug store and find something similar.
You need a good brush.
I had been coaxed into buying this since my color (illusion) for the loose powder formula is pretty much ALWAYS sold out. I wasn't immediately thrilled but I liked the way that it did end up settling on my skin. It leaves it soft looking not cakey or powdery, which is always nice to not have to fuss too much with a product.
I have never been one for the cream to powders but if I had to choose one this would be it. It does give you some coverage and is buildable but you do need a good brush to do this, or maybe a good sponge.
I just never liked flat brushes and it comes with one (I prefer circular motions to linear). The bristles are OK they are not the softest but I have had worse for sure! Overall I am happy that I own this, it is great to take with me instead of foundation and powder since essentially it is an all in one product. I would recommended trying this out before buying if you are not all that into cream to powder formulas and let it sit for awhile. I think you may be pleasantly surprised.
Best powder for my skin!
The thing I love about this powder is that it comes with it's own powder puff, but if I want a little heavier coverage, you are able to screw the top off and use it as a loose powder. I never really liked pressed powders, they don't do much for me. I don't know what it is about the formula of this powder but it really doesn't make me break out and it sets my foundation perfectly without making it cakey.
It is great in the sense that it is so portable. If you are on the fence, see if you can get it off of Hautelook, sometimes they have them when they are having Urban Decay sales. Just make sure next time you are in Sephora to get a color match so you know which to order online (since online colors are rarely true to life).
I have bought it full price this time around because I cannot find a better formula for my skin type.
For a fancy night out.
This is a very feminine perfume. It is not cheap so I wear it sparingly but the scent lasts all day. I find that when I do wear this I get a lot of males sniffing around my personal bubble and without fail they comment on me smelling nice. I am not saying this is going to be the case for everyone but this is the case for me when I wear it. My boyfriend always comments on it when I wear it to the effect of me smelling beautiful. I don't really know what that means but I am guessing that this has got something males like? I have only really gotten that strong of a reaction to my perfume with Ralph Lauren Romance.
Personally though I just love the scent, I had also gotten this as a sample in one of my Sephora samples when I ordered online and I ended up buying it a week after I tried it because I just love the scent. Sometimes I think my YSL mascara smells like it too, which I don't mind at all! ;)
try it before you buy it
If you can get a sample of this, do that first before buying this product. It smells nice on me, I get compliments on it all the time. I did notice though that when friends borrow it or my mom it is completely different for them. I am not very good at describing scents so bare with me! It is a light floral (not overpowering in any way) and it says it has mandarin which you get a very little hint of. The fragrance itself is light and sophisticated. I can wear this daily without worrying about overpowering a room. One of my favorites!
Just not reliable.
I have bought so many sinful colors throughout the years. Who hasn't? It is like cover girl pressed powder, any girl who gets into make up has owned this at some point. The colors (in the bottle) are so diverse and bright, dark, sparkle-tastic, metallic, clear, sheer... they have everything. The only problem is that the quality of the polish differs. Maybe it's just been my luck, but sometimes it is super goopey or super runny. Sometimes the glitter ones just get to be too sticky and don't dry properly but then you get the occasional gem that works beautifully!
I can't say I will never buy these again because... well.. it is cheap! So when I am in a need for a quick fix such as Halloween or something like that it does the job well enough.
Fun baked shadow.
I have this in Hocus Pocus and this is fabulous. You can definitely use this product dry or wet. I like to line my eyes with it sometimes since it does give the beautiful teal toned reflex with a black base. I got this at Beauty 360 in CVS.
I tried some of the other products from Laura Geller when I was there, and I have to say this is a very nice brand. I want to try their baked blushes. I know you can get great deals off of QVC as well, I just never tv shop. Her products make me quite interested in looking out for her QVC features.
The brush is also quite nice. It is a travel size but the brush itself is small somewhat dense with stiff bristles that tapers toward the end. I use this will all my shadows, not just this product. This is great for the outer v and crease as well as the inner corner and under the bottom lash line.
Overall this has been a great investment. Great product!
Similar to the Proactive refining face mask.
This works pretty much the same way and honestly I think it is the same thing. It smells the same as well. I use this when I have one of those cystic bumps, and it stops it from getting out of control and even shrinks it and helps reduce redness to the area.
It is true, a little goes a long way!
