Part of my arsenal
So as I age I notice my skin is changing. I am oily and dry at the same time... It's really just the most fun... Sarcasm aside, using the dermalogica line as a routine has truly helped balance my skin. So I started using hydrating booster and active moist as daily skin care items and my face really is much smoother and my makeup goes on much better! It's not very heavy at all so it's great to use during the day. I'm so very pleased with how it works, I don't really know why I have never used it before... (Other than the packaging is kinda boring... Not a good reason, I know!)
D2O, where have you been my whole life?
I like spraying my face with all these fancy sprays coming out, however, this one is different. It feels different. And it smells infinitely better than the other ones I have tried. It was recommended to use this as tool to work with the rest of their makeup line (which I do not use currently) but I found it works with all makeup lines. Look powdery? Spray and then use the "flocked sponge" or other blending sponge, voila! Airbrushed beauty! Need a little pick me up during the day? SPRAY and feel refreshed. I am just sad I didn't know about this spray years ago!
I wish it didn't have the tint it has
I guess this is just a missed opportunity for myself. I can see where someone with a deeper skin tone than mine would like this. It applies nicely, however on my it leaves a tinge of color instead of minimizing redness. I love the way it applies though and it feels nice on my skin, a little soothing and cooling. I just wish they made one a little lighter.
Love the brow side and some of the shadows
I guess I was just hoping for a little bit more from this. I didn't purchase it, I got it as gratis when I worked at a makeup store. The brow side, as to be expected from Anastasia is my go to brow. It just works awesomely... the wax is great, it doesn't fade much throughout the day and the brush it came with actually is the perfect tool (angled on one side and a spooly on the other). The shadows are where this palette starts to get a little.. well.. chalky. Especially the last black with brown glitter. I love the color. In fact, it is the only color in the palette I wanted to be phenomenal. The other three are pretty smooth but I find they do not apply evenly so that was disappointing. They are also more run of the mil colors that do work for a neutral eye.. but I don't know if I would call it bold or particularly beautiful. It seems like it would be nice for someone to take on the go. The only thing they would be missing is a mirror, which I think would have made the brow side THAT much more fantastic, especially because they include tweezers...
A Universal Palette
Ok, so I am late on the review boat here, but I have had this palette for as long as it has been out in Ulta stores. I have pretty fair skin so this palette was a huge HOORAH when I saw that the bronzer was not a deep color! Though this is a bronzer and not a contour color, it does put color into my face and give a healthy glow, I find this best layered with the bronzer near the bottom of the cheek bone, the highlighter on top part and then swiping the blush on top the apple to the high point of the cheek bone. This is also how the palette is laid out so this makes it a no-brainer when I grab for this palette. The highlight leans a little more towards the pinky pearl side, where as I prefer the golden champagne color for my highlight but it is a well designed palette as far as color. The blush is neutral, so you get the warm bronzer, the cool highlight and then a neutral pink. Everyone should be able to find one thing they like but I think it overall is a nice balance. I would recommend this to people who are not looking for a contour, people who want to warm up their complexion and give a great healthy look to their skin!
Not as impressive as I would have hoped for!
So, to be fair, I am not into long wear lipstick. Mainly because I know it will have issues with dryness, flakiness and cracking. The colors are BEAUTIFUL. STUNNING. OPAQUE! Also, they smell fantastic. The downside is that it performs like all long wear lipstick. Flaking was the first problem, then it felt too dry, and had minimal cracking after a few hours. Not sure if it is worth the price.. just wish it didn't have the same ol' problems that I run into with all of these types of lipsticks.
An absolutely stunning palette for an absolutely affordable price
I heard about inglot through god ol YouTube, and of course was immediately interested in the product. I was hesitant for a long time about purchasing as I was not able to see the products first hand, so I held off for a bit. I heard through the grapevine that there was an inglot counter at Macy's in the mall I frequent. Upon a bit of searching, I found the counter and though the packaging doesn't seem like much, the colors themselves, are phenomenal. Some colors are a bit on the chalky side, which is hard to avoid with matte colors but nothing unmanageable. I also took this palette with me to Hawaii and packaging is so easy to travel with and even though the lid is held on by magnets, it feels very secure! I am elated with the product and can't wait to expand my collection with more inglot colors. So many original colors from vibrant neon colors to neutral, earthy shades. I can see how this palette would also be helpful for makeup artists, especially bridal because you can pretty much arrange the best palette for the occasion. Worth so much more than you have to pay!
Highly pigmented with amazing application!
I know it is hard for many people to spend that extra money on blush.. well.. because blush is blush.. right? No, you couldn't be more wrong. This is radiance in a powder form that you can put on your face for only twenty-six dollars (you can't put a price on stunning)! It is basically a miracle that you should consider at least trying on at your local Sephora. But you should save yourself the trip to come back for it later and just buy it on the spot. I now have two colors, Ambition and Allure and though there is the detection of shimmers in the powder, it does not make your face look like studio 54 threw up on you. Some tips with these blushes- be light handed, it is very easy to go too far, and you could be treading too close to the avant garde advertising they usually feature. These blushers blend like a DREAM but don't slide off your face later. Basically, I'm in love.
My New Love
Like many I had to switch my lash curler because Shu Uemura is no longer available to myself. It took a long time for me to accept that my curler was no longer working as well as it used to and enough nerve to spend another twenty bucks or so on another. After doing some research I decided upon this one. I can definitely say it has a unique shape as far as lash curlers go, it has quite a wide curve as opposed to a rounded ones found on most lash curlers. I have to say I really do enjoy the curl I get from it, it doesn't "bend" my lashes which is nice, it gives it an even , CURVED curl. Overall I am not sad that I spent the money, it is working out better than I had hoped for!
Pricey but Striking
I can't find a highlighter that has this exact glow. I can find some that look lovely but nothing that really makes the skin look healthy the way this does. I am shocked I have not yet written a review for this product as it is an everyday item for me. The packaging looks gimicky and cheesy... but isn't that what we have learned to love and embrace from benefit? The sponge applicator at the end of the product is a big fat joke. However, I can't be too upset with it as I feel that the sponge tip applicators that come in all eyeshadow pallets are also a big joke. It is an option in a pinch I suppose, but I rather use my finger. The glow that I achieve with this product always prompts people to ask what my skin care regime/make up I am using because of how "glowy" I look... well... any foundation can give you that look with this wonderful stick. It is like healthy jennifer lopez glow in a tube. Awesome.
