My preference of Lip Gloss
I bought Donutella (sheer nude - beige) myself. My boyfriend loves it and my bunnies. O_O
Funny fact: I have two Holland Lops who love Blueberries & Blueberry Yogurt Drops. I wore this, put one of my bunnies on my lap, and he reached up and was trying to lick the gloss off my lips (which of course, I didn't let him do). I, later, knelt down with the intention of feeding the other, but she hopped on my lap and tried to do the same. So ... the blueberry scent it comes with is pretty close to real blueberries.
Pricing: - I believe these are only available at Sephora. I purchased mine for 15 USD + tax. - It's a reasonable price for how much product is in the container, the packaging, and the quality of the product.
Packaging: - The packaging is adorable. It has a plastic cube at the top containing a plastic character and coordinating, coloured confetti inside. I haven't tried taking the character out, but I don't believe someone will be able to without destroying the entire thing. - The plastic is quite heavy-duty (reasonably for a cosmetic). - THE WAND - is what people should really consider. It has a plastic paddle instead of a doe foot applicator. If you are a make-up artist and like having the ability to control how much gloss you take out, this is a good gloss without the mess of taking out a stopper.
Quality & Formula: - All of the Prisma Lip Glosses are Sheer - you can almost tell just by looking at the formula compared to that of something like NARS. - It is not sticky on my lips. I feel like I can move my lips and talk freely without looking like my mouth is that of a Lagoon Monster, but it is still sticky enough to catch flying hair. - The blueberry scent is on the stronger side of averagely scented and it is pretty true to real blueberry scent. I tend to feel nauseated when something is strongly scented, but I didn't feel that way with PLG. - It gives a nice glossy shine & it moisturizes. Now, I wouldn't recommend this in place of a balm if a person has chapped lips. My lips have a tendency to be chapped and to look worse when I wear lip products that aren't moisturizing at all, but this doesn't do that. As the gloss is wearing off it turns into a light, glossy feel as if you've put on about 2 light layers of Chapstick. - Not drying at all.
Would I recommend it? - Yes, actually I am planning on buying this for a few of my friends. - No, I do not believe everyone will like this because it is sheer and doesn't do a lot of colour depositing/lip colour changing. - I do believe if the person in question likes sheer glosses or likes the scent, he or she will like the gloss.
This product is also cruelty free :]
Rich & Creamy
I purchased this myself at Sephora after receiving a lovely sample during another purchase. I am quite happy and impressed with this.
Pricing: - 25-28USD depending where you purchase it. I got mine for 25 + tax. - It's expensive for an everyday joe to get, but I believe it is worth it.
Packaging: - The packaging looks simple and cheap from afar, but if a person is familiar with the bend most tube dispensers have I am sure that he or she will be able to tell that the plastic is a lot firmer and a reasonably heavy duty plastic than usual. - I don't worry about this bending and exploding as long as I don't do anything absurd with it. - It is simple packaging, but it makes the most sense because it is such a rich formula.
Scent: - I'm not keen on any lotion to heavily scented or scented in general, so I stuck with the Naked Scent. It is a neutral, clean smell (doesn't smell like much), so it is perfect to layer perfume over.
Quality & Formula: - The formula is very rich, but goes on lighter than typical body butter but just a tiny bit heavier than normal lotion (let's say Bath & Body Work lotion's heaviness is pretty comparable once worked into the skin). - A little goes such a long way with this because I can use a pea size amount and cover both hands with it. - It leaves my skin feeling hydrated, soft, smooth and not greasy.
Would I recommend it? - Yes, in fact, I purchased a few for my friends. - I think any girl who wants that feminine, softness, Venus legs would enjoy this. - I don't think everyone will be over the moon for it, but those who like having soft, supple skin would like this. It's basically like Cetaphil but A LOT better.
You get what you pay for
First of all, I invested in this palete myself. I wasn't amazed with it, but I do think it is fairly good - average.
Main reason being - most of these mass palettes are generic. Coastal Scents, BH Cosmetics, etc.all sell generic mass palette make-up. The company itself does not make the eyeshadows found in the palettes. The eyeshadows in the palettes are nothing compared to the pan e/s BH is now selling (those, I believe, are most likely produced by the company itself).
Shipping: - The shipping was quite fast. I don't live near a heavily populated area, so packages tend to take longer to reach me than normal people (what I mean is if the shipping says it will take 5-7 days. I usually get it on the 6th if I'm lucky). I got my palette a few days after I ordered it (I would say ... 4 days?). - I opened my package to find loads of filler paper and bubble wrap to protect the palette. I felt like everything in it was entirely secure and did not worry about my e/s breaking. ** I only ordered the palette and nothing else.
Packaging: - I was interested in the BH 120 2nd Edition because I liked the packaging better than Coastal Scents. I felt like the glossy plastic looked and felt more durable than other mass palettes, which was true in a sense. - It has a sticker in the center-bottom, back part of the entire palette indicating what number palette you have. It also has a nice label that says when the e/s will expire. - The layering is nice and the top panel fits snugly when put back in place. However, I feel as though that purple ribbon to "lift" the top layer is ridiculous. When I pull or tug on it, it doesn't really do anything. It is attached to the bottom layer which doesn't really do anybody any good. I am able to get the top panel in and out without worrying I'll accidentally fling it off into oblivion while trying separate the panels.
Eyeshadow Quality: - Quite a few of the matte pastel colours just came off chalky. If it was mixed with the oil from my fingers, it would swatch pretty nicely. When applied, however, it was basically white with tinges of a different colour. If you're not too understanding of what I mean by this (or what chalky means) - Imagine getting cheap chalk and colouring the sidewalk with it. It's not a vivid, pretty hue. It's almost white, but if you look closely ... it isn't. - The Shimmer e/s came off quite nicely, however, with little to no fallout - They seem more metallic than shimmery to me, though. - The Satin e/s I like quite well and if I do use the palette, those are the ones I am drawn to first. Those are very nicely pigmented and true to the pan colour.
Pricing: - The pricing is definitely reasonable. I feel like the packaging, the weight, and the amount of shadows were worth the price. MAC e/s - 9.6 USD per gram vs. BH 120 - 2 USD per gram (equivalent to approx. 12 e/s). *DISCLAIMER* - I wasn't able to find the exact gram amount for the BH120, but I heard that they were .10 grams per e/s
Would I recommend it? - To be blunt, not really - not to everyone, at least. - I feel like these palettes are great to give to anyone who would like to experiment around without spending too much money and who is striving to further themselves in make-up as a career or just daily use. I use it on my friends and play around with it, but I don't find myself reaching for it every single day. - I would recommend spending the 29.90USD on a few single pan e/s that one would actually use regularly rather than 120 e/s that one would use occasionally.
