This outfit is from the shot from "Today's Woman" Magazine January Issue on my taste on fashion. I picked this two piece formal with long gloves with pearl buttons that go all the way up my arms to make it easy to put the gloves on.

Most don't know that the second wealthiest zip code in Anerica is in Louisville in a neighborhood from the early 1800s. It's from the earliest days when the river couldn't be traversed for nine months out of the year and the merchants got very wealthy usually with a winter home in the town and a summer one in Glenview when they flat boats could be put back in the river and it was deep enough to have passage over the coral reefs to New Orleans from here! So the merchants were paid for their storage and into the till the money went for extraordinary silk dresses and other finally for their wives so they could buy whatever they desired to
makeup for the nine months they were stuck at home unable to go to town to shop for their whims! But they did live well for the three months they couldn't play in the goods being brought in because the shallow river. So finally when the paddle boat became the boat de rigeur they were thrilled to get the fabrics of their choice but it no longer meant the storage for nine months so that was a huge trade off for finery vs storage and money.! But their husbands never explained that to their silly wives. Anyway it eventually worked out in the 1900s during the start of the Sothern Exhibition when lights became fashionable and houses all had them
So things changed for the better and fashion became more fun to make plus easier to wear but Cholera nearly killed off a third of the population due to animals in the streets and unclean water. So there you have a bit of our history. More later!
