HELP!!!

I'm trying to temporarily dye/dye my hair with kool aid and food coloring!
But NOT dip dying, I made a aste mixing the two and my result was the strand I'm holding in my hand (yep, not very red) is there anything I can do to darken it or any other way to dye it?? HALP!!!
