How do you get your hair to go so straight around it? With mine it clumps up and the hairs go different directions

I make sure I brush out the ponytail before I put the sock on. Then I spread the hair around the sock and use another hair tie to secure the hair down. Any ends sticking out I twist in small sections and tuck under the bun!
