FAQ
I recently dyed my hair dark again after two years of red, but I am keeping what I used to color my hair red listed!1. What hair color do you use?
I like to change up my hair color routine a lot, but lately my favorite combination is: Goldwell Topchic permanent hair color in 6VV; for my base color. To really play up the red I use Manic Panic in Vampire Red.
2. How do you help maintain your color/is it difficult?
Yes, red hair color requires A LOT of maintenance, but it's totally worth it. I usually dye my roots using Goldwell Trophics in 6VV every 4 to 6 weeks. I refresh the color every 2 weeks using Manic Panic in Vampire Red.
3. Did you have to bleach/lighten your hair first?
YES, I did have to lighten my hair prior to the red. My hair was pitch black, and I went to have it professionally lightened in a salon; as it is a lot of work and may be difficult to do on my own.
4. Do you color your own hair?
YES, I always do my own hair. I don't have to lighten my roots every time I retouch my hair. I just use a high lift color, with a violet base. I like more of a dark red, with some magenta. I am a licensed professional, and I would recommend going to a professional first before trying anything, especially when using any type of lightener!
5. What type of foundation do you use?
I was using Sue Devitt's Triple C-Weed Whipped Foundation (Oil Free) in Tanami for about 1 year. It cost me about $46.00 every 3 months for 1 0z. of product. Now, it's totally worth it, but it soon became an expense I could do without. I recently found a new foundation I really love called Nearly Naked by Revlon in 100 Shell. This costs about $9.00 per 1 oz. You do the math! It lasts, and has a beautiful dewy finish! I really recommend anyone try this!
6. What is your favorite brand(s) of make up?
I love almost anything, but right now I'm loving Kat Von D and Urban Decay. I just can't get enough!
So far this is all I have for now, but stay tuned!
