I love this foundation....too bad it's discontinued.
I posted this review on MUA about a year ago and someone asked me to re-post here so.....here it is. I still love this foundation. It really gives me a nice matte finish.
I love this foundation. I generally use it as a setting powder over my liquid foundation, but will definately use it alone in the summer. It has been 75% off at CVS for weeks in my area and I have dozens of $1 off Revlon coupons, so I'm only paying $2 for these. The packaging is totally useless, but I just bought a cheap Coty powder, dumped it and mix my Colorstay in this container. The Deep is just a smidge too dark and red and the med-deep is a little light, but when I mix them together with 1/2 a container of medium, I have the perfect shade for me in the winter. I'll use a blend of medium deep and deep for the summer. I have bought out my 6 of my local CVS since these are discontinued, but honestly, I have enough now to mix the perfect foundation for a couple of years! Be sure to thoroughly moisturize your skin before using and you shouldn't have any 'chalky' or 'cakey' results. Love, love LOVE this product!
Not very impressive...too light
I got all of the palettes when they were deeply discounted last spring at Walgreen's. I also had a bunch of coupons, so I did not spend alot of money....only about $1 each.
That being said, the colors look beautiful in the packaging, but are very weak on my skin. Even using primer and a solid white base, it took way too many layers of this shadow to show up.
I gave these to my daughters to play dress-up with, I have no use for these. Before I let my daughter's at them, I tried some of the colors on a friend with a very pale complexion and this didn't show up on her very well either.
What a disappointment.
Universally flattering....beware of fall-out
This is a really nice palette. You can create muted looks to over-the-top glam looks all from this one palette. I find my self using Sexpresso for everything from crease color, to defining my brows and eyeliner. I wish I could purchase it alone, I do love all of the other colors too.
Honey Pot and Nude Beach does come with a ton of fallout, so be sure to apply before your foundation or use a powder to protect your face. Other than that, I have no complaints. I just wish it was more readily available!
Nice product....not as nice as all the hype!
I was able to buy this on sale with 2 coupons, so I only spent $3. First, I really dislike how the mascara sticks to the tip of the wand. Other than that, this is a good product. It did thicken my lashes, but nothing spectacular. I was expecting much more from this mascara, but was a little underwhelmed. I'm sticking with my Lash Stiletto which, for me, adds length, thickness and curls. I also get it for $4 without the coupons.
Very nice!
This stuff is hard to find! I finallly tracked down 2 colors (fig and lolipop) at CVS and I must say this is a great lipstick. It applies very smoothly and you can build up the color. If you want just a tint of color, just apply one or two swipes and you're all set. If you are looking for something more intense, just apply more layers.
It feels great on the lips....it's not goopy or shiny. My complexion is a NW45 in MAC and the lolipop surprised me by being a beautiful color with my skintone. The fig is a perfect color for a neutral lip for me also.
The manager says he'll order more since I talked up the product (score!). I'm very pleased with the quality of the product.
One tiny complaint is that the packaging is kind of flimsy. Sometimes it feels like the lipstick will bend or fall out if you wind it too much.
Great for blending out concealer!
I use this brush to blend out my concealer and to apply foundation above my eyebrows and around my nose....it's the perfect size to get close under and around the eyes without accidently bumping into my eye makeup.
Ecotools has a great line of quality products for an unbeatable price. I'm glad that I scoured YT, MUA and this fabulous web-site for advice before wasting my money on more expensive d.s. brushes.
Boy was I shocked! This stuff is GREAT!!!
I bought this last week and it blew me away! I used it along with a couple of colors from my Too Faced Natural Eye Kit and Wet N Wild's quality was just as good as Too Faced! The colors blended so smoothly and are very pigmented. I use UD Primer Potion and had no creasing or fading after 5 hours in very humid weather.
I will definately buy the other color collections. I see no need to purchase a designer or Dept. Store brand just to have it when there is quality like this available for $4 bucks!
You get what you pay for.....
Some are fantastic and some are marginal....I like the packaging and I do have most of the colors. I agree with several other reviews, I ususally end up loving only 1/2 of the duos! Since I never pay full retail price, it has been worth the money for me.
I do recommend using a primer with these for longer wear.
I am buying out the drugstores as you read this!
I love this product. It really gives me a nice soft finish over my ColorStay foundation. I actually like it just as much as my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish, but the price is waaaaaay better with Revlon.
I was bummed to hear that it's being discontinued, but glad to get it at such a low price ($2.99 at a discount store and they take coupons!!!!!).
