The Olivia Pope of Masque Treatments
I've spent the last few weeks using 'The Problem Solver'. I have to preface this by admitting that I almost stopped using it after the first treatment because my skin started to quickly purge impurities and I almost confused it with a mild eczema and rosacea flare-up. However, I felt moved to give it another go... and then another... and before you know it I was a believer. I have incredibly sensitive skin and was worried about the mentioned warming sensation--I felt the heat, felt a little sweating, but knew that this was the masque working from the inside out. I chose to use water for my first few mixes, but made the switch to using manuka honey and just a small splash of water. The mauka is 400 MGO and helps reduce the warming/sweating sensation a great deal. You can still feel the masque doing its work. The splash of water helps in reducing the viscosity of the honey and makes it easier to apply. My skin is looking even more wonderful, pores are dramatically smaller, it has helped in further curing eczema/rosacea outbreaks, and is also restoring a bit of confidence in knowing that my mug is A1. I highly suggest this for others with sensitive skin, and also recommend trying with manuka honey. Something to point out, by using the honey you won't get the mousse texture and the masque itself will not dry/harden as it would with water--the masque is most certainly still doing its job.
Bliss in a Black Bottle
A delightfully intoxicating and warm experience, the Jasmine Garden facial mist is an absolute MUST have in your skincare regimen. I've stolen a spritz or two from my boyfriend's bottle in-between time and I recently had a chance to grab a bottle of my own. I use it directly after I get out of the shower when I layer my products and right before bed--it soothes the skin, shrinks my pores, and leaves my face glowing and soft. Well worth the price, I'm looking forward to seeing how long this bottle will last and purchasing the next one.
EDIT: Revising my review and giving it 4 stars. Though I received the bottle just a few days ago, for some odd reason it felt light and when shaken it sounded like it wasn't necessarily full. I held it up to a spotlight and noticed it definitely wasn't. A little annoyed since I'd expect to receive a full bottle for the price. It's done such great things with my eczema and rosacea that I can't bother waiting a few days for a replacement to be sent. Terrible dilemma to be in, but I'll survive. : (
My Dopp Kit Search is Over
I've been on a LONG hunt for the perfect dopp kit. I'm a definite divo and need my skincare items when I need them... ALL of them. This "Wash Bag" is the answer to all of my prayers. It's about the size of an envelope clutch with PLENTY of SPACE inside. I'm talking bottles on top of bottles on top of jars, all of your necessities can fit in this beautiful and sturdy canvas bag. There's a waterproof lining, a side pocket for additional storage, and the gold YKK zippers? *chef's kiss*
The Perfect Tool for Successful Treatments
Finally giving May Lindstrom's 'Problem Solver' a try and knew I couldn't checkout without snagging this treatment brush. The bristles are like silk and helped with an almost-mess-free application. The masque did become a little caked up in the brush, but that's more of my mixing technique being an issue. Looking forward to seeing how this brush holds up over time. A great alternative to the more expensive options.
EVE LOM Made the Perfect Cleansing Cloth
So glad I stumbled upon these during my first Beautylish shopping trip! I've been using a cleansing oil for a few months now and misplaced the cleansing cloth that came in the box. I've spent the past few weeks trying to find the perfect replacement and these are most certainly the answer. I've only used my first of the three cloths a few times now, but there's been no shrinkage or scraggly threads. The price was lower than what I anticipated having to spend, which was an even bigger plus. These are now a critical tool in my dopp kit.
