Beauty Product Reviews
Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful
I have 3 lip tars; Grandma, Trick and Trollop. They are all absolutely amazing. A tiny blob will cover your whole lips, they give a lovely finish and last for ages. I love the whole concept of this product, a proper liquid lipstick. They have some gorgeous bright shades, wearable everyday shades and super editorial/colours for mixing shades. I desperately want to own them all, there is nothing wrong with these except the availability, I can only get them at the London IMATS.
Good not great
I have the lipstick in Nevada which is a lovely nude shade but the texture of the lipstick is a bit odd, it's almost chalky. After I exfoliate my face (and lips) in the morning, and I do my makeup, it goes on nicely. But if I try to reapply during the day or shower before I go to bed and apply it in the morning, it doesn't go on smoothly and can accentuate the flaws. It also clings to the lipline a bit giving a funny look. But I find if I blend it well and make sure my lips are in a good condition then it's fine; maybe it's because it's a lighter colour.
Meh
I love creamy full coverage foundations so I though that this would be good for me. It is full coverage, and it does have a lovely texture, but it doesn't apply well. Maybe the problem was that I have dry, pale skin so it clings to the flaky patches and looks really odd. It did make the rest of my face look flawless though. I think this would work for someone with oily skin, but it didn't work for me. Sometimes I mix it with a liquid foundation for areas where i need more coverage so it's not gone to waste. Also this product should be used sparingly as it can cake up a little bit, especially around the eyes.
Surprisingly Good!
My friend has this and I was doing her makeup and decided to test it out, I used an angle liner brush and it was really nice! Compared to my holy grail Inglot Gel Liner, it was a little stiffer and less creamy but I quite liked it that way, it gave me more control. It doesn't budge all day and doesn't fade. The brush that comes with it is a little odd, it looks more like a lip brush or smudger brush so I just used a brush my friend had but the actual product was lovely. I think it's a little expensive for a drugstore brand but it's still nice quality and I have yet to try out the other colours :)
Get it now!
I got this a few days ago and fell in love with it straight away, I had heard all the hype but it was out of stock forever so when I saw it in a shop, I almost squealed with excitement. Amazing quality, amazing value, I use it everyday! It's especially useful when it comes with the brush and primer potion because it means you can take it with you wherever you go. Totally 1,000,000% happy with this, makes me want to buy more Urban Decay products!
Amazing Value
This is my go-to eyeshadow palette! It has loads of gorgeous neutrals with some darker, stormy (appropriately named) colours. Some of the lighter shades are a bit chalky and powdery but the pigmentation is great and it was around £6! Bargain! I have 2 other Sleek palettes and I love those too, Sleek never fails to impress!
Hit and Miss
I think MAC is a great brand with some really good quality products but the eyeshadows are hit and miss with me. Whenever I swatch them in the shop, I'm careful about which ones I choose because some of them swatch beautifully but look rather bad on the eye. I love the veluxe pearl and frost shadows the most, they're gorgeous, and my favourite would have to be Amber Lights.
