Beauty Product Reviews
Yes, Yes and Yes!
I spent approximately $41 US Dollars on this palette. That's because I bought this in Singapore due to shipping details and taxes etc. So despite paying 13 dollars extra, I still say it's worth every penny!
It only has six colors, five mattes and one "demi-matte". I put air quotes because it's not, it's plain ol' shimmer but Venus is my go-to-highlighter. It shines in the light without overpowering the whole look or looking too overdone.
Despite the limited colours, you can create so many eye looks and much more! As stated, Venus is my go-to-highlighter and Naked is my contour powder. I even use Faint to fill my eyebrows occasionally. All the colours are wonderfully pigmented and easily blendable without that chalky feel.
The only downside to it is the eyeshadow, Foxy. It's a fantastic color but it's simply just there. I find it to my least used when compared to the others. It is could be a base but W.O.S is better. Although Foxy is great as a transitioning colour from brow bone to socket and lid.
It is definitely my most used product, and I still have not finished it. For every beauty lover and Matte Girl, The Naked Basics is a must-have product!
Great Eyeshadows, Meh everything else
This was my first makeup kit. For a beginner like me, it is a great one. The eyeshadows are amazing. While some aren’t as pigmented as others, you can put primer and build the color gradually. They range from shimmery to matte, nudes to purples to black. Enough colours to great looks. It does have a tendency to fall out but not to extent of blushes and the bronzer.
Compared to the eyeshadows, the pull out tray is disappointing. The blushes, bronzer and eyebrow powder fall out easily, getting into the lip colours, eyebrow cream and face shimmer. The lip colours themselves are quite sheer and the face shimmer is ultimately useless. Though the eyebrow cream is black, it’s too dark even for a naturally black-haired girl like me. The blushes are beautifully pigmented, but the bronzer is too coppery for my skin tone and difficult to blend in.
This palette is worth its money. It’s a great beginner’s item with a cheap price tag. Don’t expect top quality shadows but as I said, it is worth as it is. If you’re going to buy the product, get it for the eyeshadows and (maybe) the blush.
